I've decided to go to a larger turbo and I'm trying to decide on one of the above mentioned turbos....

As always SAU is the place to ask so, does anyone have either of these turbos fitted to their GTR currently?

The Trust is over $7k where I could probably source the Garrett T04 substantally cheaper locally...

Yes...I will be getting my engine rebuilt to handle it.

Yes...I know there will be lag.

Let me know.

Cheers.

T78 if you stroke or have 3 litre, hit like freight train san.(Shin-kan-sen) bullet train.

T04z HKS jobbie that is definately one of the better singles in town for 26dett's with cams, stroked or both.

Probably wont be stroking it...just forged pistons, new metal gaskets, R34 N1 crankshaft, cylinder work etc etc..

Is the Garrett T04 virtually the same as the HKS jobbie? any recommendations on where to source one?

Nengun for the t04z and when you order it in, say it's for a suzuki capichino so you don't get slugged import duty!

Garrett jobbie off the top of my head is very similar as HKS just machine and change a few little things in the turbo to suit their specs.

Now all the stuff I just said could be BS as I've only read about these things over the years.

Correct me if I'm wrong fellas.

Cheers.

Ohh OK then....GTR Sean - What are you currently running?

I've got the Garrett 2860R -5 atm.

Gun32 (Kane is going to run them too) has 2860R-5's

I've just got stock motor with 33N1's+bolt ons ATM for the last 2.5 years.

First RWD dyno was 296kw

I'm guessing you are after around 400kw at all 4?, with single turb setup?

my setup is built rb26, forged but not stroked, poncams 260 9.15, T04z .7 front 1.0 rear housing, running 24psi with fuel supporting mods,

power 416.9kw with stock afmeters, lag till 4 then full boost hits hard,

hope this helps

DVS32R,

full boost at 4000 or starts spooling at 4000?

what rpm do u get the 24psi?

i have a worked rb26 making similar power with a different turbo, concidering replacing the current turbo with a T04z.

Are HKS T04's available locally or would I have to go through Nengun/Greenline?

Looks like the HKS is gaining popularity...

GTRSean - What bolt ons do you have because the best my tuner could get at a safe tune was 276rwkw @ 16psi...std eveything except for bosch 040 fuel pump, zorst, dumps, front pipes etc..

m&m off these forums has a built 26 with a T88 38GK on it.

Went for a ride in it last week, only running 18psi around 450rwk or so.

F**k me did that hit hard, around 4500, but very drivable off boost.

I believe he picked the whole kit up from Autobarn for around $6500 or so.

You can get em locally from HKS distributors like BD4's in Sydney but buying from nengun etc is cheaper.

Sure is.

All I've got is:

No AFMS

720cc injectors

nismo fuel pump

R33 N1 turbs

trust tuned length front pipe (got rid of it) uas front pipe now

hks hi power exhaust

Cam gear ex side

Got power figure running Jap tune (lean) and 17-18psi

Then I got it tuned to run on 98 and lost 20kw.(276RWKW)

Now I need more tuning done to aim for 300RWKW at 1.3bar, 18psi, cos it's running hell rich and only making 266RWKW on dyno at 16psi, with A/F going to 6.1 at some points!

This is due to changing shagged N1s for good cond 33 N1s with stock GTR rear turbine housings(more response).

Ok , some Sydney - Perth superfreighters (express goods trains) go south (Syd-Coota-Parkes B Hill etc) with four locomotives 1800m and at times 4600 + trailing tonnes . Hunter Valley coal trains get up over 10,000 tonnes and Iron Ore trains in North Western Australia 40,000 + tonnes .

Cheers .
