Hi all.

Just wanted to share my last tune with you guys. Managed to pull 207 rwKw at 12.2psi or so.

All the mods are as per my sig. The car pulls like a freight train, and compared to the old tune i managed to pick up 60 rwKw through the rev range.

Here are the graphs showing the peak power, plus the power at 4 different boost settings. Also atached is the old power run.

What you guys think.

Thanks CEF11E, yeah the power is great, the overall power is not the big thing, i love the big fat midrange, that is much better then top end power.

The issue was that for some reason, the stock ecu was causing missfire when hitting R&R, eaven though it didn't look like R&R. The ECU is fine itself, just the way all teh electronics worked together made it miss.

The new ECU is all good, and no issues with Splitfires and new plugs. So far so good. For now all happy, i am in the process of designing a new intake manifold, need to do more calcs for it. Also doing some design for a custom Intercooler water spray kit, i am hoping to see these later this year.

The kits will incorporate a new widscreen washer bottle with a seperate cooler watter reservoir with a new pump, a new spray bar and so forth.

Will keep people posted on these.

ALSO posted the differance between the power figures, as you can see BIG differance.

There is interest, but most people like just buying one thing to solve all problems..

Now anyways..

where did you get this central20 ECU from? and what model cars does it support.

Can many tuners tweak around with the cnetral20 ecu?

The ecu was from a friend, basically cost me nothing, as i sold my traded some parts and got the ECU. It does have a same setup as Dr Drift, with the plug in chip. Dr Drifft is comming to tas next week, so he is going to have a look what can be done with these. If it does work, then all i need is a new ship and a tune, yeehhhaa. But the safc II still works well with the ECU.

There are some getting arround on ebay these days, best to keep and eye out for it.

humm not much interest, did i post this in the wrong section???????

Mate I reckon you've taken the smartest path to 200(+) Rwkw's. there are people who've gone and spent thousands on power FCs/Eboosts/$1500 intercoolers etc only to make less than that. Go the remap ECU I say! There's no reason you can't get to the power limit of the factory turbo and injectors without spending big bucks. Good work :sorcerer:

This is an awesome result, especially with how much midrange you picked up in the last graph you showed. I am real interested in getting a simular sort of setup, as i still have the stock turbo and the power fc are quite difficult to come by. good work!

    • It's also worth noting that I am heavily and unconditionally biased. I've had a lot of cars including some GTRs a fair while ago. I love my BMW's now a lot. They make no sense a lot of the time and the guys on here remind me regularly that I could get something else that does what I want better and cheaper. If you're going to take on an older BMW it's definitely a commitment. If you bail on it early you'll lose money and also the ability for it to put a smile on your face. Stick with it and it just gets better.  f**k I should get into advertising.
    • Careful with posts like that around here without the flame suit on @cobo_11! 馃槀馃槀 My 330i journal is on here too. That car was so good and super reliable. We still have a 130i in the family which is almost identical to the 330i and easier to find in manual. It has also been almost faultless over the 6 or so years in the family.  I used to want an M car a lot more than I do now but if I'm honest and without trying to sound like a wanker, I can get such good performance and handling out of my 335 without needing to worry about all the crap that goes along with M car ownership. I don't need to worry about my bearings or subframe issues or the cost of replacing brakes or suspension or whether it has been impeccably maintained. And I can leave it places and not get upset when it's always filthy.
    • A pretty cool little feature discovered while restoring my seats.
    • Great write ups / details / photos. I'm sort of on the road to E90 ownership (325i or 330i), haven't hit the fork in the road yet "Yes" | "No", and some of the issues you've faced have me nervous for the age these are getting to nowadays (that wiring, jesus), but I'm guessing the pro's of ownership are still outweighing the con's? Of course, if the bloody tattslotto ROI actually went my way...E90 M3. And I'd have the cash to do all the extra lovely maintenance THOSE require. 馃槃
    • They sure do, great for when you need to chuck a sickie 馃槄   You should definitely give the beast a squirt on the track, great to enjoy the car
