I will post up some with all the sponsors livery next week once it is all made public. Unfortunately it was bit of a rush to build as i only had a fortnights holiday to strip, mock-up 26, strip, paint then re-assemble..... but i am pretty happy with the way it turned out.

looking good. I'm keen to see and hear it with some RB power :)

Needs the T517Z's on my desk fitted then we will be happy..... the Std RB26 is no match for the old worked SR20 that was in it..... we thought we would get away with it in WA (as turbo's were still in transit) but we struggled majorly for power (4th gear track) Mallala should show its full potential.

Yeah, I saw it going around Wanners and it didn't look like it had enough grunt to get the wheels frying. Better luck for Mallala. Cat still seemed to draw a crowd though :)

That old SR was an animal, I only heard it on video but it was awesome.

I can't wait to see some RB26 powered Kuroi style runs from Cat...

I hope there are plans for the new Uras GT aero to go on it after the current aero gets damaged.

I saw it at a car show recently and it looks awesome

haha yeah for sure i love that kit.

the old TRUST SR20 i built for it is now resting in my kitchen  , gonna give it a freshen. Not sure whether to sell or keep for a rainy day same with the $9k PPG box attached to it. SR stuff always comes in handy.

give it to me trent. I will make a home for it and the box in my GTST. i'll give you the old RB20 in it as swap. hell you get two more cylinders for free. can't argue with that kind of value.

edit: yes I love the new GT kit. almost enough to make me buy a 180.

when will URAS come up with something decent for 33's......i really want something new for my car

tell me about it.... they actually joke that there are more 33's in oz than japan nowadays.... and cant justify a new kit. But i will continue to pester them :nyaanyaa:

hows the weight balance with the car with an extra 2 cylinders over the front wheels compared to the SR? Now that the same shell has been drifted with a SR and a RB, would make for an interesting comparison...

SR WINS HANDS DOWN. The setup works well but if was to build a serious track car i would not go down this path unless i moved engine back 15-20cm.

The SR was far nicer to drive in anger around a circuit, as for drift it (RB) works well but we spent a lot of time setting up the suspension.

Once the turbo's are on it will be quick but honestly a few more grand spent on the old SR (maybe a BC stroker kit) and it would match it (RB) fairly easy.

I am toying with completing the conversion the way i had originally planned, by installing the double wishbone front suspenion into the S13. I just ran out of time.

    • I dunno man, that VX S with 200,000 k's is still hanging out for 1.5 I reckon the R34 is the better buy, personally.
    • Dang, doesn't even include on roads.
    • Only in a market where OBD was a thing. The rest of the world was quite happy to let the US EPA only affect US cars for quite a while. The* problem with datalogs is that unless you are very familiar with what every trace should look like, on their own and as an ensemble, you can and will see weird shit that can and will lead you astray, not realising that what you are seeing is the normal consequence of various transient inputs. *Really, "a" problem, as there are of course many other problems too. Look, these cars are so bloody simple that if it is missing or stumbling, the obvious thing is to break out the old mental diagnostic list and just go do all the things that you know you should. After proving that the plugs are clean and sound, ditto the coil stalks, coils, loom connectors, etc, and then making sure that there is fuel pressure at about the right numbers (while driving!, not while sitting in the garage free blipping it), then maybe you go looking at AFM voltages, manually testing the igniter, putting a scope on the CAS, etc. Then you're into pulling the injectors for a spray pattern look-see and perhaps a clean, squirting carby cleaner around the inlet manifold looking for leaks, and all the more annoying and esoteric, but still common as muck faults that these things have. I wouldn't ever bother looking at the trims, as they are usually bullshit on these old clunkers anyway.
