Any of you guys seen 2MUCHKW drivin around the city.. xr6t

i seen it the other nite and i seen the plates and went puft, rite oh.. i kept cruisin then he pulls up next to me doin about 60-70 and then drops it back to 2nd and starts spoolin and spinnin..

my jaw dropped and i was like get f**ked that sounded f**kin mint!!

he did this multiple times in front of me, was like watchin a movie but bein in it! was awse.

so all you guys that are givin em shit.. they might be shit, but this thing f**kin rocked! i'm not much of the ford fan, but i dont mind these aye! especially this one! so yeh i guess he kinda lives upto the name of the plates, which is good to see, instead of some loser puttin it on a stocker.

they do sound mint!

there is 1 in town that just has a flash tune ecu, bigger injectors and exhaust and a touch more boost that put down 397hp on a hot day at the local dyno comp last year.

another mate of mine has a built xr6t that supposedly had about 440hp. had time slips for 11 second passes (it also had polished rocker cover and a few other things but only stock turbo). on the highway at 120kmh if he pinned it when it dropped back to third the traction control would kick in. he wasn't game enough to turn the traction control off.

Ummmmmm have you had a look at the recent class action suit against Toyota?

Yet again Toyota has been keeping problems under wraps, paying off irate customers outside of court and outside of media scrutiny.

Problem was one of these Toyota owner has gone out and exposed Toyota’s engine problems and their under the table hush money.

RESULT? Toyota was forced to compensate owners of Lexus and Toyota vehicles. The problem affects 3.5 million Toyota and Lexus vehicles with model years between 1997 and 2002. This sludge build-up problem according to experts was the result of bad engine design and can cause engines to die (requiring total engine replacements). This problem will cost Toyota Billions of dollars to rectify.

dude seriously read about the 2jz and 1jz... i think thats what the bloke was on about anyway...

ford isn't the only aussie company to have trouble with turbo 6s. i was talking to a mechanic about this yesterday and he said that the first model vl turbo had heaps of dramas.

also here's some recent nissan recalls.

2006 NISSAN SENTRA and ALTIMA - CERTAIN PASSENGER VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH 2.5L ENGINES MAY EXPERIENCE EXCESSIVE ENGINE OIL CONSUMPTION AS A RESULT OF IMPROPER PERFORMANCE OF THE PISTON RINGS

2006 NISSAN MAXIMA - ON CERTAIN VEHICLES, THE REAR SUBFRAME MAY HAVE BEEN MANUFACTURED INCORRECTLY, WHICH COULD RESULT IN A CRACK IN A BRACKET WHICH HOLDS PART OF THE REAR SUSPENSION.

Defect Consequence:

IF THE BRACKET IS CRACKED, THE STABILITY OF THE VEHICLE MAY BE AFFECTED UNDER SEVERE DRIVING CONDITIONS. THIS COULD LEAD TO A LOSS OF CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE WHICH COULD RESULT IN A CRASH.

just do a search on nissan recalls. there's heaps.

this was originally a little inside info what could be a major problem it has been turned into a manufactures war it was about fords now we are hearing bout this car and that car and oh this car did this and didnt do that the facts are there they dont lie...

Even though i started the thread i am glad they crap themselves as it keeps me in a job, it's fun pulling out and stripping engines (smells rad).

I have seen first hand the problems with these vehicles but so far there have been no problems, recalls or service letters on the turbo focus. maybe volvo got it right.

that xr6t with the plates 2muchkw is putting down around 500rwkw

there is an article on it in the latest perth street car mag

its had:

new rods, forgies, balanced standard crank, ported head

Nizpro intake manifold and front mount

experimental aftermarket cams (custom grinds, these apparently might now come off the shelf)

now just put on:

850HP garret turb

custom exhaust manifold

massive 1600HP n/a aeromotive eliminator fuel pump and 80pound injectors

result:

507.7rwkw or 680rwhp

the reason its such a beast is beacause of the near flat torque line

on 17psi (max hp at 24psi) the torque ranged from 600-750nm from 3000-6000rpm = tyres melting with part throttle in 4th gear

so there u go

Lets look at these stats

how many xr turbo's made in 1 year, 100 000. Lets say 1000 of those blow up, break, fall apart before 50k. Thats what 1%. Im happy with those figures.

No offence dude, but you're posting that you are happy with reliability figures you just made up?

PS. Last year Ford sold 43,000 Falcons of all models and variants.
