I tested the resistance of my coils today using a dick smith multi-tester. From the manual the resistance is meant to be 0.6-0.9 ohms. Mine read from 1.3 to 2.2. I'm not sure if I had the multi-tester set to the right thing. So here is a picture of the setting I used post-29295-1171006376.jpg.

Is this the right measurement? It seemed to be the only logical one as all the other resistance settings read the wrong thing. ie they weren't in the 0.0 reading. Maybe its time to fork out $500 on new coils from nengun.

Does it look like I've used the right setting? Cheers

right setting. crap meter.

In my experience with those particular dse meters, the accuracy and repeatability of measurement is far from ideal.

If you can test with a decent meter or compare two meter's readings it would be better.

I wasn't suggesting you buy another one, just compare your results with another meter. Reading ohms that low the meter's accuracy could be out a bit.

What is the lead resistance (just the reading when the leads are joined)? Is the reading consistant on one coil (read it, disco and then read it again, does it change)?
