Hey mate I worked back late last night so I couldnt get some pics for you but to answer your question when we did mine we had to cut a strip along the bottom of the support bar so the cooler could fit plus we had to trim the front bar quite a bit for it to fit.

Chris

No worries mate, if you can get some pics when yourve got a bit of spare time that would be sweet

Yea i thought the support bar would need a bit of cutting, it looks pretty tight in there, thats not a problem tho, i cut the support bar on my old r32 so should be easy >_<

Got any pics dude?? theres probly no point posting pics of yours as its not a r33, but if u do post some pics that would be kool.

Does any member/trader on this forum sell the Blitz lm fmic for a r33?? im thinking it might be cheaper to import one from aussie rather than getting one from nengun.

I doubt you'll beat nenguns price...

Yea i know, nengun is bloody cheap :D, but i may get charged importing tax and stuff like that if they display how much it is worth, if i buy it from someone in aussie i may be able to get them to write the value a little lower than its actually worth so hopefully i wouldnt get charged importing tax etc etc.

Im looking forward to you and alphanumeric posting up some more pics, hopefully i will make my mind up when i see some decent shots lol

Nengun never write the real value on items sent, they do that so as not to attract potential thieves to expensive items...they'll also remove all logos etc from the packaging if you want them to, so that its just a random box to anyone handling it...

When I got mine, their price was unbeatable, but there's always a chance that it could take ages for them to send it...I decided to pay roughly an extra $100 and buy it from homerrules on NS.com (he's a trader) as it was guaranteed to be delivered to my door quickly....it took about 5 days once he received the cash and made the order etc.

So what did it cost you all up (aussie dollars) from "homerrules' if you dont mind me asking, if its not much more then nengun i may send him a p.m and see what he can do, its going to cost me $1080 nzd from nengun delivered which is a very good price, but then there is the risk of getting charged importing fees, someone loosing the package (i dont think that would happen), damage etc ,ive heard nothing but good things about nengun so im not really to worried if i do decide to buy from them.

Just received a reply from homerrules on NS.com and have been quoted $1300 AUD delivered, which is $1466 NZD :), i think i will go with nengun instead, if i decide to get one :P lol.

Some info.

I have seen these and other coolers fitted to R33's where the owner said they had to cut the front bar a fair bit and they were almost all mounted incorrectly.

Basically there are 2 main things you can do to get the pipe (and the whole thing) to sit higher. One is to mount the cooler on a slight angle, bottom more to the rear of the car. The other is to use a rubber mallet to bash the bits of the radiator support panel that stick out back a little. I moved mine up about 3 cm just that (was an R34 though).

Also there are two mounting holes for the brackets that go on the top of the cooler. Some people use the lower one when you need to use the higher one. Need to relocate the horn.

This bracket is the only one that is not attached to the pipes. I think I have the R33 one lying around somewhere.

    • I like it when the counter chick leads you out the back into the racks and says "have a grub around in here and see if you can find what you need. I'll be back in a few minutes. Just left me in front of a massive motorised shelving system and 2-3 million fasteners, so I could find a peculiar SS shoulder bolt with cap head. Gotta love country towns.
    • I used this https://osgiken.com.au/product/os-giken-os-250r-lsd-gear-oil-80w250-1-litre/   shut my nismo 1.5 pro up by heaps…. Not silent though. Gives the car character and personality. It ain’t a carolla. If you want silent, put a quaife in it.
    • It's about the same time for me from Bunnings, or the Fasteners. My big push away from takeaway food, and gluten in general keeps me away from the Bunnings Snags too! Weather up here, I've been out for two walks today in the beautiful sunshine. Had a few little drizzles, and some wind, that honestly, a tin of beans and I could compete on how harsh she blows Thankfully, being this bit inland, we're not getting anything much really. Will probably pick up a bit more when/if Cyclone Alfie decides to come ashore. A few areas in the GC though, and south into NSW are really getting smashed though! Right now, I'm just annoyed Alfie hasn't hit, as I'm not allowed to crack into the BBQ foods like the bacon and eggs until the Cyclone hits "In case we lose power"...
    • I love fastener joints, the price difference between them and joints like Bunnings or Super Cheap is amazing, and they either have exactly what you want, or they can get it to quick They have even given me some for free when I only needed a couple of specific size In saying this, I have paid premium for fasteners from Bunnings if they have the sizes I need, but only for convenience really, as my local is only 10 minutes away, the Sushi joint near them is also a consideration  How's the weather Matt? Stay safe mate
    • Wideband is worth setting up if only for tuning purposes. I would not mess with the ignition system unless there's a misfire. HKS crank trigger is popular out here for the relatively easily sourced Denso crank sensor, not a bad idea to install as well regardless of power level on a standalone. Boost leak test is worth thinking about. Oil pressure sensor tied to a fuel cut isn't a bad idea either. Getting the tune figured out is a good idea. Without putting eyes on it and getting under it there's no way for us to tell you exactly what it needs but most likely you're down to the last 10% that will make a big, big difference in how happy you are with the car.
