Hi guys,

Can anyone help me with the electrical side of how to wire a ICE thermo switch. Especially where it is marked C and the number 2 on the thermo switch terminals. There are only two terminals on the thermo switch. Btw the car is a R34.

Does iginition or accessories wire actually go to the thermo switch on C?, what would be a good example to use in the engine bay eg: starter motor etc?

I tried iginition on the C on the thermo switch and it didnt seem to work.

The information provided in the wiring guide is just confusing. Ive supplied a photo which i drew, but what stumps me is this part of the information.

It states Terminal 86: Supplies 12-volt positive power from:

Air conditioning clutch.

This is what excalty is drawn on the diagram provided in the wiring guidelines.

Can someone please help me asap, as this is the last thing i have to do to get the car back on the road.

Cheers! :P

If you use the ac clutch power the thermo will only switch on when the AC is on. As you are wiring it in with a thermo switch i assume you want it to regulate engine temp, rather than just act as an ac fan. There are a heap of ignition sources in the fuse box, anything that turns on with ignition like fuel pump for example will have to have either a triggered positive or negative wire running to a pin.

The diagram up top is correct as far as i can see. The thermo switch is the trigger for the relay so it's inline between the power source and the relay. 85 is earthed so when the temp gets up to the set level of the switch it will trip the relay and provide power to pin 87 turning on the fan.

Easy test is to short pin 86 straight to the battery and see if the fan starts. If it doesn't turn on your problem is something else.
