lol, i beleive back then the telegraphs and morse code were also popular methods of organising cruises.

I was thinking the old indian use of smoke clouds. Imagine the low post count!

hahah yeah back in 2002 there were only about 20 active members on SAU and we ALL knew each other by name. In fact we used to head down to the Glenelg Mitre10 and hang out/hook up for a cruise most Saturday nights - and the cops used to come by and literally say hello, and NEVER defect our cars .... those were the good old days.

Remember back then a skyline was way out of reach of most P-platers. They tended to belong to those who had been in or were looking for something different than, the Street machine (torana/falcon) style. There were proportionally lots of well moded machines rather than the more common exhaust and pod style we see so much of now.

Yeah, that was a time when I considered buying one. But suddenly everyone was driving them, and mostly dickheads at that too. So I got put off.

Which is why I got myself a Stagea ... before every dickhead is driving one :(

Back then the Stagea wasn't available as an import, I still remember the Zoom? article about the first one being brought in and testing for compliance. Skylines were an uncommon site in 02, but now they are like a clitoris, every c**t has one.

Yep, I had a mate who paid $40k for a stock R33 GTS-T, and met a bloke who paid over 50k for his - back when they all came in through QLD and people bought based on a couple photos unless they flew up to look at the cars themselves.

I remember seeing Munro's current 3 Litre streeter R33GTR (Doug's old car) for sale with 10,000km on the odo at Prestige Walkerville (of all places) for $90k - not sure what year that was, but my guess would be around 1999.

I should have clarified that I got put of Skylines back then. Then several years later (6-7 years) I bought the Stagea :/
