Looked at a vehicle with the title mentioned component fited as a mod.

Back in our day we did our tuning by ear and seat of the pants feel. The skyline came imported with this piece of kit and no instructions. Anybody here familiar with this item. what are the benefits and just how do they work. From what I have gleaned to date its an over ride type engine management computer able to control fuel/air ratios etc. Do they have any other function and why would you need a hand controller. Do people actually alter their mixture settings whilst driving.
