Hey all

how much boost and how many kws of power can a rb25det take (obviously depending on driving style, but generally...)?

my rb is pushing 230-240 at the wheels on 20psi (very rarely on max boost) im just worried the internals are gonna kark it...

Should i be heaps concerned about making more then 250 on stock internals or can the pistons n stuff take more?

Cheers

As above

There are many topics on this.

Its each to their own. You can make over 300rwkw, but most people dont have it that way daily, and to my knowledge the others have have not, all died at some point

i have a mate who has a rb25 runnin 280rwkw... bigger turbo blah blah but yeah its not showing any signs of dying any time soon...

Theres a guy here in the states who had an rb25 with 595 rwhp in his Z car.

Keyword *had* the internals held up for a while.. But man, thats pushing it... Thats a ton of horsepower even WITH a good tune.

yeh mine made 254 and went bang after 3 months but that was due to bad tuning aswell but....i know theres a dude here in sa making over 300 on the stock internals and has done for a while

Over 300rwkw on stock internals?! That must be an amazingly good tune...

hahahha

well the 25 is in a s13 silvia... and std computer, std injectors.. standard everything except for GTR pump... lol

i didnt believe it untill i seen the dyno read out...

neways he is building another motor with gtr rods n pistions...

neways he knows what he wants :P

I had 350hp for ages before a hole ended up in piston 1, but that was down to either injector failure or a crank angle sensor problem I had. A mate has 410hp on his & thats still going, but it would probably go if he kept it on full boost for a while.

impressive gt-passage.

so in theory a bigger turbo with less boost is safer than a smaller turbo with more psi making the same power? sure it will be a bit laggier but will be safer for standard internaled rb25? is this a valid theory? common knowledge?
