There is only one version of the F-CON V Pro; there's no difference between the stand-alone and piggy-back one.

And as for being locked into a HKS Tuner... fine by me; he does a good job, guarantees his tunes, doesn't charge through the roof and is trained by some of the best in the world... why not?

LOL we've covered this topic so many times before... I knew as soon as I started typing that the critics / non-believers would jump on me

small business dont stay around for ever

whos to say what your next hks delegated tuner is like.........

big businesses dont stay around for ever either

id like to be able to take my tune elsewhere , look at the tune , see what their doing , diagnostics etc

im not saying its a not good product , it probably rules awesomely but their restrictive trade policies discourage a lot of potential purchasers

There is a 33GTST FCon on NZ's trademe (liek ebay) with a small reserve (i think around 500) if anyone wants one ill buy it and then they can send me the money and ill ship it over.

Likewise a r33 power fc for 1100.

Sorry if my last post come along a little strong, it annoys me when people comment on something they have no knowledge of as it simply ruins the purpose a forum. I come here to troll information and share experiences and a "links crap" comment really doesnt help anyone.

Im a through and through power fc fan however looking at the prices of a link and the specs its simply hard to ignore. Most of us arent tuners so the hand controller has little meaning and if we wanted to look at engine specs with a link i can plug in my laptop and use their free software (no datalogit here)

I use to be a huge Link critic as their last models were pretty average however my tuner has one on a supra putting out 600odd rwkws and the computer made 75kws more than on the Power Fc with the same mods and tuner.

The link as below as the G2 LinkPlus which is the flagship model and below is the G3

Here is also a link to the free software

I must admit the one thing i find frustrating about these forums in particular is the Power FC debate. If someone took the time to go and look at the specs vs price im sure many more people would change their tune!(bad pun)

power fc's r the most overrated things man

get a wolf 3d - $1000.00

or better still the new wolf v500 - $1795.00

deffinately better than any power fc and has way more tuning points than the pfc

if u need a tuner in melbourne rank rotary in mentone is your best bet he is one of the best in the country and one of my boyz works there too great to work with.

rather than just saying its better how about providing some useful info on to what features are better and how they help the average skyline owner.

this would give all the people interested some insight and help a few people.

saying "its better" doesnt help much, be buggered if im spending $500 more over another ecu for no reason.

how many more tuning points?

Well Being a tight arse I wanna see some real world $

Power FC = $1000 + Install = Free + Tune = $500 = $1500 total <-- yes i know you can't get some of them any more

Wolf V500 = $1800 + Install(adapter harness) = $300 + Tune = $500 = $2600 drive away

Rom Tune = $0 + Install = $300(Rip i know) + Tune = $500 = $800

F-CON = $2k + Install = $300 + Tune = $1k = $3300 total

These are some prices from my experience.

Would be great to hear some comparisions and others like link / haltech ??

Jesus are we still raving on about this...

F-CON

(If you take brand new everything)

Parts: $2k

Install: $300

Tune: $1k (first tune), about $500 each and every re-tune

In saying that though; I believe in the phrase "you get what you pay for"... don't see any of the Motec boys n girls complaining about the extreme prices ;)

this is from the site

is that enough chief

i have a few friends who changed from other ems to v500 as soon as they came out

one mate s14 a had power fc changed to wolf v500

one mate rx7 s5 had microtech changed to wolf v500

and like i said one of my friends work at rank rotary and they tune them up real good mate they compare them to motec they cant stop raving about them when i lose my licence i will take my car off the road and other than a turbo upgrade ill be getting one of these for sure

Doesn't help that much, when we are looking for a power fc replacement which is a lot cheaper.

It sounds really good but at $1000 extra my wallets not coming out of its warm little pocket.

It looks like the there is no competitor in the $1000 ecu market ?
