WogsRus
Hi guys. I had my car tuned last week, and pulles like a freight train. Bt sometimes i swear to got that it pings or something, but the knock sensor only registers small jumps of say 30 or so. So does the SAFC II pick up pinging aswell as knocking?????????? Revhead
I have no experience with SAFC's but ping and knock refer to the same thing. Put it on a dyno and have the tuner check it out if you're concerned Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/156049-does-the-knock-sensor-readout-on-an-safc-ii/#findComment-2901566 Share on other sites
tmc_2
It may be registering 30 when u hear it? I second tha tu should get it checked on a dyno to be safe. WogsRus
I have had it on the dyno, but i had to refill with prmium not BP ULTIMATE, as it was out here in tas. The tuner has teh car setup perfect, and running well, it did not ping or knock on the dyno. I just wanted to make sure that the SAFC II picked it up. Beer Baron
forget the safc. use your ears to pick it up. if it's audible then f**k the readout. it's pinging!!! it doesn't matter if the knock reading is 5 if you can audibly hear it destroying itself. It sounds quite likely that since you had it tuned on 98. and are now running 95 there is a fair chance it's pinging now. Strik3r
yea its all in the fuel mate. even a stock skyline wont drive nice with '95 in it. if you filled up, then ur gonna have to take it easy for the next few days... below 3k rpm, no hammering it around. Once it gets below 1/4 tank, put in $20 of 98 (bp ult or shell v-power pref). Then once that gets below a 1/4 again, fill up with 98 and you should be ok to drive.
