Round 2 - Maxauto Action S1 Autokhana Series This Sunday

Recommended Posts

Howdy All,

This coming Sunday, we will be holding Round 2 of MaxAuto Action S1 -2007 at Belmont Park Racecourse. As per normal, there will be an AM and a PM session. At this stage we still have two spots for the AM session and some 9 spots for the PM session available. So if you are planning on being part of the action, then please act now! Btw, this time around most if not all of the Mitsubishi EVO action will be happening during the morning session.

New drivers are more than welcome to enter a single event, but at this early stage it isn’t too late to enter the rest of the series! The remaining event dates are as per entry form, which along with further info is available by emailing maxaction@actionalarms.com.au

The courses are going to be very similar to last month, when we so successfully reduced the number of WWs to a minimum! Probably the biggest change will be the opening up of the bridge/channel to a straight again. We successfully trailed this last Sunday during the MaxTrackAttack event and with that dramatically reduced the number of hit cones. The maps again are going to be available before the event!

The weather on Sunday isn’t going to be as hot as last time! Our weather people predict a partly cloudy day with a maximum of 28°C, so really just comfortable and more like what we are used to for MaxAuto Action!

Food and Drinks are going to be supplied by the Rotary Club, so please support them as it is all going to help some worth while community projects!

We hope to see you all on Sunday for another day of MaxAction, MaxExcitement and MaxFun!

Cheers,

Norbert

Howdy All,

Only two days to go and this Sunday’s Round 2 of MaxAuto Action S1 -2007 at Belmont Park Racecourse is upon us. We have only 6 competition spots to go before being fully booked.

So if you would like to be part of it, please be sure to book NOW! Enrty forms, course maps etc are available by email from maxaction@actionalarms.com.au

Courses will be very similar to last month, when we so successfully reduced the number of WWs to a minimum! The biggest change is opening up of the bridge/channel to a straight, which will make that section also somewhat faster again, but at the same time will dramatically reduced the number of cones hit

Skyline Action, with only one Skyline booked for the PM session, most of the Skylines Action will be happening during the morning session 8)

The weather, being mostly sunny and 28°C on Sunday, is going to be just right! So really just comfortable and more like what we are used to get for MaxAuto Action!

Food and Drinks are going to be supplied by the Rotary Club, so please support them as it is all going to help some worth while community projects!

We hope to see you all on Sunday for another day of MaxAction, MaxExcitement and MaxFun!

Cheers,

Norbert

Slowboy, I'm not sure if this is you scene?

30 psi on a 10g turbo sounds mighty impressive, but more so for the drag strip, right?

But we don’t run drag events. … and yes you are right we don’t pay appearance money either. Probably we should charge higher entry fees, just to be able to pay and with that to attract top acts like yourself. Thanks for the free offer though!

Seeing that on one hand Julian isn’t entered for this event, so forget your rant :D, and on the other hand you probably would have trouble to get your big turbo on song during our events, it would be just wasting your time. If you do get your tyres lit up and big smoke is happening, here is a word of warning. Because you would make an appearance on the security surveillance cameras, as removing tyre marks from bitumen is very costly, you wouldn’t just pay for your burned tyres . You would be better of getting a second 10g turbo :D

Nah, as they say Slowboy, horses for courses. Your 8 sec 1/4 mile car is just not suited for autokhana events, just the same as my Lotus Elise isn’t suited for the drags – it is simply a waist of perfectly good time! I hope we can agree on that! :)

    • I've been building a 26/30 for a few years now. I've had the head built with all the good stuff. I had a 32 gtr but blew it up and yes its all going into a vl but im looking for some advice from some RB nuts on pros and cons on putting a 26 head on a 30 bottom end is it worth it Works are as follows Head -Extensive porting 1mm oversized supertech valves Supertech double springs Supertech valve guides Supertech titanium retainers Tomei solid lifters Tomei 270 x 10.25 cams Head drain Bottom end series 2 rb30 block Cp ceramic coated pistons Eagle rods Romac balancer Oil restrictions  O ringed blah blah spent a fortune And will get a girdle because the 30s arent used to handling that much rpm Nitto billet oil pump Hypertune plenum 6boost mani Refurbed astra pump thats the cover for it in the boot I did have a precision 6262 but sold it because drag car life. Currently building the ass end full 4 link floater rear end with a 2 speed  But the dilemma i have is my mate rekens I should just stick with the 30 head for reliability. Has any one had any issues with mounting the 26 head ie compression blowing gaskets etc. Just looking for some advice from people who have gone down this route. Here's some photos. Blew the oil pump in the gtr and decided to rip the motor out at the time and do a full build only to find it had been a repairable write off so went down this path.

    • lol no cats running str pipes … might put the high flow back on but I suspect it might effect my ignition timing a bit.
    • That looks a bit like yellowing to me. If the rear bar was looking like that from rich idle, I'd ask the question, do you have a catalytic converter fitted, and fully working?
    • Oh yeah gets really bad down here. I’ll have to upgrade the heater and wind screen wipers as well for optimal performance.
