sumguy
How do you guys install your amps and wiring, do you remove the negative terminal or positive terminal, or both? Personally, I just remove the negative terminal and never have any problems with installs Edited February 12, 2007 by sumguy Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/156084-installing-an-amp-do-you-remove-the-positive-or-negative-terminal/ Share on other sites

Trav33
I believe negative is safest, so if you are using a spanner and it hits the body work, you are connecting earth-earth which is safe, no spark. If you are loosening your positive with a spanner, and the other end hits some metal, you'll short & spark! This is why when you change a battery, its negative off first, connect negative back last.
