i remebmer my old kfc manager used to drive an mx5 out at lakeside

he did some rediculously fast time in it and then complained that it shoudl have been much quicker, but he had a full tank of fuel that was slowing him down

i remember i lapped about 1:15 or somethign slow in a hq at lakeside

the mx5 was so far in front of that, i foudn it hard to believe (at the time)

it was totally stock

i believe now

also, i wonder why you dont see more mx5s drifting, they are obviously well balanced

that said, id love to own one

also, id like to open my own hairdressing salon one day too

:)

Hmm, but they are still sh1t

says the driver of an automatic

perhaps i'll have to do a swap with the gf for her mx5 for the weekend.. actually, nah, the last time i let her borrow my car without my supervision she ran over a dog

sif to this thread (it could depend on way to many things as outlined above)...anyway from memory doesn't your car have a rotary engine in it mike?..lol dont think you can comment on the reliability of an rb then :ninja:...bout time for a rebuild yet? I'm with everyone else....doesnt matter how fast it is, still looks like a hairdressers car. sorry.

Mike, if you think my gtr is a "land boat" you have another thing coming. Several people have commented on its ability to turn now and for good reason.

As to the next MX5 I pull up next to being better then my GTR, well, I somehow doubt it. Unless I cut hair for a living, which I dont... I was getting my haircut today however, and the owner of the buisness drove an MX5. I couldnt help but think of you when she answered with that.

In Reply to driving my own car to my own events... Lets see you build your turbo MX5 and never ever ever have anything break ever at all whatsoever until the end of time. Having a fair bit of experciance with turbo mazda piston engines, I would say its unlikely. Didnt you say at last stage you were droping a BPT into your MX5? How is that going?

Personally I wouldnt go onto the MX5 forums or the flying miata forums and go "next time you pull up next to a GTR, dont laugh, its better then you" - but then again if I was on thoes forums and said such a thing, I would probobly get a quote for the latest fashion cutz while I was there.

I'm an MX-5 lover, but yes, they are a hairdressers car unless driven by someone with a pair, as with any other car.

Guess I'm lucky enough to actually have some driving experience and not just in love with the fact that someone else is posting results in what I'd dream to have. So my next project is an MX-5 with a V8 for track only, but I'll still have the GTR and the 25t with RB26/30 for days that it rains and I can't get to the salon for a blow wave........

Not an all alloy lightweight Toyota 4L quad cam with 6 bolt mains and blah blah blah....... >_< You can work out the rest.

My plan is to have it on track for $10K, unlike the Bullet wankers that want 100K for the same thing but prettied up. Light, easier on rubber and cheap.

I just had a thought too, Giants GTR did his run at Wakefield in the wet and if I remember correctly it was a low 1.06 right? Not bad on a tight track but at a real track, say Phillip Island where you need the gonads of a stud stallion to run a fast one I'd put the time gap at about 5-6 seconds Giants way to the turbo'd MX.

Q: Why do turbo, 2 door coupe, no brake, handling, cooling or suspension mods, GTST's sneeze when they change gear at a track?

A: Because they are allergic to the tools that drive them.

lol

mike mike mike...

No matter how hard you make that MX5 go, people are just going to think when you tear past them:

"Must be late for a house-call"

Lol thats classic...

Not the bagging out of someone i dont know (and you guys do)

But just the banter about the MX5 being a hairdressers car that ive seen on SAU.

Whats funnier to me is the fact that it is one of my mates fav cars...

So instead of him trying to tell me the car will be "gansta" once he is done with it (and when he gets it)... all i can see is the center console being used for a shampoo and treatment shelf.

hahaha
