Hey there,

I fitted a greddy plenum to WHITER33's car, the plenum was a little tricky to fit. I didnt end up fitting the auxilliary air control valve, left it off because his car runs a haltech ecu, was able to use the stepper motor for cold start idle up. On the stepper motor it has 2 hose inlets, one runs to the AAC valve, the other to a position infront of the throttle butterfly in the cooler pipe. I simply ran a hose between the stepper motor and the cooler pipe and blocked off the other end of the stepper motor. We ended up fitting an 85mm hypertune billet throttle body. As for coolant hoses etc, i blocked off the 2 small hoses running to the factory throttle body. The top radiator hose fits, just gotta turn it upsidedown or flip it over, you'll work it out. You will also need lengthen you wiring to the stepper motor. The job wasnt that bad to do, but you will appreciate it more once finished. Makes things alot easier.

They only ran hoses to the stock throttle bodies to prevent the butterfly sticking open in very cold conditions, wouldnt bother with the hassle of running them. Then again i wouldnt bother with the stock one after seeing the difference a decent one can make.

Don't suppose you took step by step photo's.. I see tons of threads talking about installing these plenums but no one with a really good step by step.. I sure would love to see an install FAQ with step by step pics.

BTW thanks fo explaining that i don't need the AAC.. I've been trying to figure out where I'm supposed to mount it or if i needed to buy a different type.

Thanks

Jam

Sorry to hijack, but I see you took your cam gear cover off, I've thought about taking mine off, but was under the impression that the sensor on the passanger side gear was something important that I shouldn't touch, and would need to be re-aligned properly. Could you clarify if perhaps this is easier to do then I assumed?

I just put a little mark on the CAS and where it bolts onto so i could line it back up again. Easy.

WHITER33, Are you keeping the weapon and going with the big stalled auto and NOS?? Come on 10z!! Happy boosting!

Yeah will be keeping this for a little longer now as with the power its making its awesome fun to drive but the 18s dont like the way in comes on boost...

Im looking at a direct port NOS kit at the moment and want to get that installed and setup before i get the auto so i can work out what stally i need. A 3lt bottom end is also still on the cards or i could stroke the 2.5

i didn't take step by step photo's either, but am willing to help others fit their plenums. it does start to get a bit tight under the plenum but im so much happier with the overall looks and performance of the engine bay. i can sorce these plenums for around $350 including freight.

If these are those copy ones, are you cleaning out the insides of them? from reports form other members on here there is alot of slag on the inside of them that needs to be ground off (casting defects), other than that they are ok though i think.

    • Yeah I understand you have to pay for an updated map or subscription service or something. But I can't even find a current map for Australia. My map is dated 2017, but didn't this car version still sell in Australia until 2021?   Also, just as an aside, the navigation system warns you of traffic incidences ahead.....why would they include that on a map they knew is not receiving live information. I am forever going to be warned of an incident that probably existed for 30 minutes 8 years ago.

    • sensible choice....and all 32s should be in yellow
    • Run it in open loop for now, and drop the frequency down. This lowers the resolution and requires more duty cycle to do anything, however good to troubleshoot.
    • According to Josh, one of our local Americans, it seems the USA still can't get turbo systems quite right at a lot of places, so possible that they're not running great at all, but they've just not complained as NFI about getting it right...
