I've currently got my car at Vision Smash Repairs in Artarmon.

I've heard good things about them, and they seem helpful enough - haven't got my car back from them yet so I can't tell you what the end product is like, but I didn't need any panel work done.

But its a place for you to start in the meantime anyway, their number is 9436 1299, ask for Jerry.

it could've been farken anyone. why are you so prejudice on taxi drivers!? dont get me wrong i have sympathy for your incident but your prejudice against taxi's for whatever the reason is a little unfair.

Panel One, Alexandria. Contact Kelvin 9699 6799 and say Franky sent you. They're a BMW specialist but they've done a fair few skylines (i think there are a couple of R's in their now infact), they've done a fair few wrx's too as kelvin and i used to have one and i recommend them cause they did my wrx...

Sorry to hear PRO 32.

As Darky said, Vision Smash in Artarmon is a good start, had work done there before, great service to.

About to have my car repainted there.

Im backing pro, ****ING TAXI MOFO....

Heres my story :)

I had a taxi driver cut me off, fk down my drivers side and put me to a gutter ripping my left tire. He tried to pickup a passanger on the left side, while being in the far right lane, slams his brakes, cuts lanes, takes me out. I get out ready to murder this bloke, he gets out, 68 yearold man, so i let it go.

Called the cops down coz gut feeling said there would be issues. He changed his story twice infront of me, from "i was going to turn off at the next street, there was no passanger" to "i stayed in my lane, he screams next to me, slams his brakes, his car wobbles and hits mine". Im going off my nut ready when hes spinning this bs...

Anyway,

After a month of him spinning bs to me, he went to his insurance being zurich. They bs me with "the police report takes 5 weeks to come in", i got a copy of mine within 3 days. Police report says hes at fault, not doubts about it. Zurich says they will pay out.

He got issued with an infringment, which hes now trying to argue at court (can u say min 6 month wait list), so zurich are telling me to fk off until that gets sorted.

I know hes got a right to contest the infringement, but theres no chance he can win any of this. He's so far in the wrong I cant beleive its all going this far....

So far, been without my line for 3 months,

now we're waiting on his case to be dealt with, so alot more waiting...my repairs are 5-6k, so ive started saving. Also thinking of taking him to court asap myself?

As a result, i now hate all fkn taxis, prejudice or not ill pull the trigger againest any1 of them.

Yeah, I hit a gutter due to taxi driver coming across in front of me. He shrugged and drove off thru red light :)

Also, for years we had a run of luck with taxis to the airport for holidays - had 3 accidents in a row:

1) Taxi runs up back of car at front in lights.

2) Bus hit taxi (not his taxi's fault this time, although he was kinda overtaking a turning vehicle)

3) Taxi hit a truck (only 2 cars on the road). Small indian taxi gentleman wanted to fight truckie. We wanted to catch plane

Franks, you'd have to admit that some taxi drivers have appalling driving standards.

I think some couriers do their fare share in stereotype creation. I used to spend alot of time on the road as a consultant (lol) and found they where the worst. They are obviously in a hurry, but I was always abused and once threatened by a courier.

Taxi's are a hard one, I find in australia the taxis can be very wild. They drive erratically to get that final fair, in NZ they are so different. I am always shocked when I am in NZ, the cabbies are so polite, and drive like professionals.

hrm.

I'm driving down Crown St... Green lights all the way, it's about 10pm, and raining. I'm driving my mother's car as mine is getting a new clutch installed. Driving in a stream of cars, I'm about the 4th or 5th car... We're going about 40km/h, and I drive across William St, and BAM!

Taxi driver runs a red light and hit me so hard he wrote off my mother's $130,000 CLK. I bounced off him and hit a traffic light with such force, that it proceeded to fall over and crush a car on the other side of the road. I was winded from the force of the impact, and couldn't breathe. The car the traffic light crushed had a baby in the back seat with father and mother in front seats. I was taken to hospital for possible neck trauma immediately... 3 Police Cars, an Ambulance and a Fire Engine were on the scene before I could breathe again.

The taxi driver was charged with negligent driving, and running a red light, and was additionally charged CRIMINALLY by the Police with assault with a motor vehicle (because the father and mother in the front seat of the lancer pressed charges on him for endangering their baby).

*THAT* is why I'm scared of taxi drivers.

I've got a couple of good guys I use whenever possible. The last thing I feel like doing is getting in a cab and looking out for danger signs. I just want to sleep generally.

I even got "seasick" in a cab on the way to work one day (heh not a good look) due to this guy's absolutely attrocious driving.:)

You pays your money you takes your chances. :D

    • Harness update time have had great fun and learnt so much already so far with this project. I started off making both the ignition and injector sub harnesses in the hope any mistakes i made here aren't as hard to undo and learn from as the main harness.  A cool comparison of the old harness using presumably TXL wire and the new which is using Tezel. Also opted to use DTM plugs to keep the whole setup as neat and tidy as possible and tucked the wiring under the coil bracket to try and keep it all from sticking out too much. Although the injector harness, I'm not overly happy with as I'm still using the rubber boots that are supplied with the type of plugs it just looks ugly and sticks out like a sore thumb with the white identifiers so a slight redesign may be done.   Then it was main harness time and most importantly trying to route it nice and away from the heat it will use the OEM heater hose routing which is no longer present to keep the harness up high and secure. it's amazing how much smaller this harness is able to be compared to the old one. plugged everything into the emtron and with the help of the tuner again attempted to start it up and instantly fired up and running smoothly on all 6 which was a big shock to myself. So still some routing and adjusting to be done for the final fit up and installing a knock sensor harness plug which is in the post all has gone surprisingly well.     The old harness for shits and giggles.
    • They do that at random every now and then, with almost no detectable cause. Mine has done it a couple of times (over 25 years!!). Never worked out why.
    • I don't post on here and have been lurking for some time now. Many of the topics have helped me out more times than i can count. I was racing yesterday (11/9) and blew a front right CV shaft. I have spares so I popped a new one in. A thread i read previously said to check the engine mounts if you blow a front CV. Upon inspection, the front right mount was completely separated from the upper plate. This discovery saved me time and money, because i would have blown another CV if i went back out. Just wanted to thank you guys and wish everyone luck with with their builds. (Now if we could only come up with a solution for my power steering belt flying off after hitting the rev limiter, lol)
    • Either way he still need those style of spacer to go into the manifold because the photo he currently has is not going to work
    • You can just get the injector bosses, which allows top feeds to fit. He can use the same injectors without issue, like these (another option): https://rocketindustries.com.au/af59-2210-rb25-fuel-injector-inserts     The Racework ones look a bit better: https://www.nzefi.com/product/raceworks-lower-injector-mounting-boss-kit-for-r33-rb25det-s14-s15-sr20det/   You could also just get a similar kit like the Radium one by Plazmaman: https://plazmaman.com/product/nissan-rb25det-r33-billet-fuel-rail/?srsltid=AfmBOoogfYq49X0fu2Wdbf8yOf6zt9egyPAif_gn3Qr3G8hzAphhTgOkO70
