Can anyone help by offering a known good method of removing the stupid wind deflector/rain deflector things on top of the front windows on a Skyline? I am not so much worried about the things themselves as by the goo that holds them to the bodywork.

it they are similar to teh R33, there are 4 tabs, with plastick stude, remove the studs, then use some fishing line to cut away the double sided tape.

The cleaning up of the tape is a beatch, it took me 2 months to get it all off. and i am about to put mine back on again.

Mine were really easy to remove. Unclip the metal brackets first then just peel them off. The tape holding mine on was still very flexible, so i just cut it as i went making sure that nothing got near the car itself.

As for the remaining tape, it just rubbed off without any fuss. Used my fingers without any solvents at all. Total time was about 15-20min each side.

Car looks cleaner and the road noise has reduced dramatically (I think the seal was pretty shagged).

Good luck!

Djr...as others have said....undo/remove the tabs and then remove the plastic. All i did on my 33 was pull the plastic off which left the dbl sided tape stuck to the bodywork. Used a bit of shellite on a piece of cloth and the tape and goo came right off without a fuss.
