haha- yeah my mate lachlan is over in melb right now and happy snapped me a cube

with the plate "QUBE"

white one

wrote in the msg "DUDE!!!! A FREAKING TOYOTA CUBE!!!! I DIDN'T KNOW WE COULD IMPORT THESE!!!!"

toyota cube indeed.

this coming from a guy who just sold his citroen C2 (or C3) to buy a 2001 corolla levin for the same price mind you... despite me saying to him the the cube is avail for import and he was foaming at the mouth for one...

that guy's had some cool cars thought... 1987 corolla sedan with 4agze swap. 1992 levin....

but yeah - is that owner on this forum / this thread?

ok so the burning question is to owners - what do they feel like to drive???

my mum just reutrned from KL and said she saw this "car cruise of these cars shaped like boxes" i showed her the cube n she said YEAH THATS THEM

haha

she loved them

anyway

what is the cube like when you're actually behind the wheel??? its obvious they are gorgeous and cute on the out side but from pictures for me it was the interior that swayed me away...

how does it's handling compare to other smaller sized cars? or acceleration?

i want a real answer here - obviously they're cute cars to look at on the net... but when you actually HAVE one what does it make u say?

I think the real question being asked here should be "can we fit an SR20DET in between the strut towers?" lol

looking at a Tiida and this thing I reckon that a tiida driveline would surprise a few people :)

front subframes are similar.

as for driving one - think of driving a prime mover. thats the feel you have. acceleration. its a cube- you want speed by a skyline..

iiiiiiiiiiii... don't think i'd bother - it'd be too much headache to attain engineer certs overeast and heaven forbid you receive a defect (you never know - the sideways wearing hat crowd could get hold of these)

however

impul make a supercharger kit for the K12 march (shares the same 1.4 engine)

and Greddy make an E-manage which apparently works SO much better if you have filter and exhaust upgrades

=)

and realistically these cars aren't MEANT to go fast

they're an aesthetic oddity - they turn heads and make peopole say WOW

they're not meant for the track

you can spend $20,000 ++ upgrading the engine on this. roll cage and swaybars and floor braces and stability and weight reduction just so you can make it go faster.... and you'll still be stuck at the same red lights. the same traffic jams. obeying the same speed limits

the cube is only meant for dress ups =)

and that's what i like about it!

Theoretically you could say that about a whole heap of cars, Skylines and Soarers included :P

Says the guy with the supercharger kit!

Tiida and Micra are both based on, dare I say it, a Renault Clio platform, so this could be possible..
