i often debate the definition with my friends...

the definition i conjured up - was... mexican mean the wheels are "escaping the borders" or "escaping the guards"

*facepalm*

its cos mexicans have a reputation in the US for bodging shit together on a low budget that inevitably ends up looking like ass and functioning as well as a bag of dicks. Often in the quest for well fitting wheels guys will snap up something with "epic dish" for cheap with no regard for offset or clearance issues, and then proceed to rock it anyway because they've already sunk what little money they have into shitty wheels. Thus, this fitment is called mexican, because the owner is automatically assumed to be some broke ass who is trying ever so hard to jump on the fitment bandwagon, but failing hard at it.

Here endeth the lesson for the day.

This'll give you a better idea...although the pic makes the tyres look like balloons but they're not really that bad...

Kei-Office do a front and rear camber kit - they do an option of -4.5 and -3 on the rear, I think the -4.5 might be a little extreme for my needs lol

kris that looks freaking awesome?? I wouldn't camber the wheels in too much.. Werent you selling these tyres anyway? Stretch a skinnier tyre if there's on available for that size... A guard pump might sort it but i think that looks pretty damn sexy.

Some tyre shine would finisn it off... It's a great car to advertise your bidness :)

lol -3 camber and guard roll for the rear should be fine - the car is actually resting on the tyres in that pic :)

Front will need a pull but shouldn't give us too many headaches - you gotta make the car fit the wheels, not the other way around :D

My explanation is more awesome.

Damn all of you!!!

I find myself wanting one now :P

find a large cardboard box.

cut a hole in it.

put some gladwrap on the hole.

get in the box.

sit facing the hole.

this is you in a cube.

do this for an hour and then decide if you still want one.

I always feel like Fred Flintstone when driving these cars in Japan..

I used to right them off as cereal boxes on wheels until I had to drive one for a month.

Quirky car, surprisingly roomy car, and biggest surprise was they were pretty good on the snow and ice and to top it off, reasonably economical.

But they still look like box on wheels

Haven't read all the posts, so I'm sorry if this is a repeat...

The recall in July this year of 46,000 Cubes due to fuel leakage after a rear-ender.... > is it safe to say that all imports to Oz are clear of this fault?

Classic example of the phunky monkey school of "mexican" :)

The recall is for 2009/10 model cars "Nissan recalls 46,000 2009-10 Cube models over fuel system integrity". If you ever want to check for recalls on any model car use Dog and Lemon.

It is the RAWS responsibility to ensure all recalls have been carried out when it complies the car, you can check some cars with the manufacturer online looking if recall has been preformed.
