Hey guy's

Looking at sourcing a calper rebuild kit for a set fo R32 4pot fronts. They arn't going on a skyline so I don't have a VIN number which is making my life a little harder then it needs to be! :)

Where do you just buy your kits from? is there a trader that can supply me one without supplying a VIN number?

Any help would be golden.

Cheers!

just had mine overhauled... my mechanic had them sent away to a caliper specialist.

basically they replaced the rubber boots, pistons and resleeved the calipers, took the whole thing apart and cleaned the whole lot out. although i cant help you with the kit - i can help you with costs.

fronts $195 (pair) not incl. labour

rears $165 (pair) not incl. labour

Front rebuild kits are either:

SJ6070

or

Protex 210E0011

approx $40-50ea

Rear kits:

SJ6024

or

Protex 210E0103

approx $70-80ea

These kits do only 1 caliper so need 2 of each.

Try ABS in the phone book, Race Brakes Melbourne or Sydney.

mate i thin k u got ripped off i got mine done at brakes plus for 4 $160BUT I TOOK MY CALLIPERS OF, that was the fronts aswell

according to the guy above me, not really.

that said labor is the big killer in these kinds of things. with most mechanics charging $60-80/hour the costs easily add up.

price sounds ok to me, I got a price a couple of years back and to replace the pistons(genuine) was a $100 each, which is $800 just to rebuild the fronts + seals+ labour - wprst case scenario- His price doesn't seem too bad considering the types of brakes they are.

I got my caliper kits today.

Front rebuild kits: Protex 210E0011 $35ea

Rear kits: Protex 210E0103 $ 30ea

They were single caliper kits (so 2 of each needed)

These fit all Nissan front 4 spots (excl Brembo and some R34?) and rear 2 spot calipers. WRX also.

ABS told me SJ6070 were to do both sides (not 100% sure about this though)

I previously ordered SJ6024 (Japanese TRW/Lucas) and they were single caliper kits.
