Hi forum..

I just joined up to get extra informaiton about skylines as i want to buy a skyline 96 or 97 model. r33 i guess

I just have to questions:

Why did nissan stop its skyline models after 1999?? than it made a another model in 2003 than it stopped again. i am not sure plz correct me if i am wrong.

If models are stopped that means parts would be hard to get in two years time?

is it easy to get parts for skylines in Queensland??

Only thing worries me is the parts for skylines, if u can't get it straight away it will sit in workshop for ages.

Please reply back and give me some advice.

Cheers

If you have just joined, start searching you will find that you seek here. if nothing then ask questions The ease of getting parts is limited by time and money. Time to search money to buy.

That is irrelevant question just because they stop making the model doesnt mean the parts stop, companies alike are still making parts suitable for r33's and r32s easy to get parts as well, check out those sites that have these parts in store to see for yourself. at the end of the day money is your limiting factor, if you cannot afford do not get thats simple.

skylines are money pits if you want them to be money pits. GTR's are more expensive for a reason, check out the differences between gtr's and gtst's you shall find these in the search function of this forum.

holden parts? more to the fact that holden use some nissan parts, parts and numbers will and can be accessible via the search function.

Skylines are not expensive to maintain if you purchase a good one at the start, get a trusted mechanic to go over it and do all the coresponding enging checks (eg, leakdown test, compression test ect...) as engine rebuilds are about $5k for a reasonable build. I got mine checked and it has run like a dream for 2 years now, the only time it was off the road was my fault :) . Also if you are chasing second hand parts there are lots of them going in the for sale section on SAU there is also a wanted section so you can post there and get parts that way. If you would like any more information give me a PM and I will point you in the right direction, but try a search first as just about everything you could need is on here somewhere.
