Hi Guys

Well today i had a little bit of an accident, and after that happened, i was a little shook up and trying to find somewhere off the highway to pull over asap, and my nose was pouring out with blood, so as i pulled over i wasnt paying attention and gutter scraped my rims hardcore.

Anyhow, that was bound to happen sooner or later i guess but i actually appear to of damaged the front passenger tyre sidewall a bit too, there is a little strip/chunk about 2-3cm long thats cut out bit still connected to the tyre. Its not very deep... i've heard any kind of sidewall damage is a massive no no and really bad thing. I was thinking ill just glue it with some sort of adhesive to secure it as its not punctured or overly deep or anything.... or is this a major issue??

Cheers

It depends how deep it is really. The side wall is pretty tough and you can get away with a bit of damage. Also consider that the side wall is typically a bit thicker near the rim if you have the little rim protector strip. I've taken a chunk out in a similar situation with no ill effects

If it was punctured then it'd be bin time.

you can see where the tyre was damaged bottom right. This tyre lasted another 2 years and about 60,000km's
