Q to r33 GTS-T owners.

I drove a friends' 33 GTS-T '94 today.He has HKS pod on and you could really hear the turbo inside the cabin.Not to the point of being intrusive, but really noticeable.Is this normal if you have a pod?

i don't think its the turbo ... turbo sounds have a really really high pitch noise to them ... the hks pod gives it another sound which is probably what u hear ... and it sounds like a mini blow off valve in the end ... just get another kind of air filter if u don't like that sound .. personally i like it cause it also gives u an idea if u are starting to come onto boost ... hope i helped

Having a pod filter instead of the sealed factory air box makes the induction noise a lot more audible. You will also notice the bov will be louder as well.

Mine has a funny 'sucking' sound - like it goes 'w0000t' as you hit the power... like a bear suck on a garden hose? an industrial blower?

It's sound of the Apex'i pod bouncing off the glass box or something in the tract.

An open pod is even more noisy.

Yepp, the HKS pods are well known as being one of the loudest pods around.

It's all induction noise.

I've got one, and sometimes it's loud even off boost !!!

Thanks for the replys guys.The thing just sounds like constant wooshing varying in intensity depending on how far you push the throttle,even at indicated 0 psi on the gauge.Must be the HKS pod thing then...

Has anyone with the standard air box (R33) noticed that in the top half of the box there is some 'padding'? It is only a cm thick, but is this used to make intake more quiet? If so its got to go...
