Hey guys I’m having a lot of problems with my car battery, its relatively new but my car security system keeps sucking the life out of it. If I don’t give my ride a run for two to three days the battery will go completely flat. I just wanted to know what type and size batteries every ones running as I don’t even know what the slandered size battery for the r32 GTS-T is.

I’m currently running a 380cca Supercharge Gold

I just don’t what to put in something to big as the last thing I want is to start having starter motor problems

(also I have alternator and its charging fine)

if you be sensible, there's not really such thing as too big.

that is, don't go for like 50000 cca or something.

I've used 800cca or even 1000 cca batteries in cars (not my skyline), but have never had a problem.

But honestly, for you, I don't see why 4-500 cca won't be absolutely massive.

I used to use a 280 cca battery in my skyline and it was perfect. I coudl run the stereo for a while (i don't have a fully sik sub though), starts fine after leaving it for a couple weeks. Powered my alarm fine.

Bigger is only better if you have a reason to need more power than stock.

I had this problem with my R33. There's a relay in the computer that stops functioning properly. It took a couple of days diagnosis from my sparky. the only way to find it was to put a multi-meter across the battery, then you would hear a faint 'tick' from the computer. this was the only way to reset the relay, so they re-wired it and fixed it. It's not a faulty battery, I'd get soemone to look at your computer and see if they can fix it. They guys i had look at it were at The Battery Terminal in Jameson shops.

You don't need to be looking at the battery CCA (cold cranking amps) you need to be looking at the capacity of the battery. Try having a look at some of the dry cell batteries (Oddysey, Optima & similar)

At the end of the day, however you need to find where the drain is going to.

thanks guys. ill have the wireing cheched, but its not exsacly your everyday security system. it has so many exspantions and seperate systems running ints not funny. but ill check it out. i had it all installed at supper audio installations, and when i had it installed they told me my battery was probably to small. but ill get them to double check every thing aswell as looking into the computer realy.

    • Hey all, I'm sorry if this has been discussed before.  I have a 2008 Japanese import V36 coupe with nav but without Bose. I bought one of those AliExpress android screens, which for the most part works really well.  The only thing that doesn't work is the air con controls (well sort of) and the factory reverse camera.  The AC can be controlled fine but it doesn't report the change in temp and mode to the screen, and the volume knob/other audio controls from the panel don't register on the learning app.  I am pretty certain that the problem is the difference in the head unit between base model (Nav but no Bose) 2007-2009 coupes and anything after 2009.  Mine is the one with the blue connector all the way to the right as seen in this forum post:  The reason I think this is there is one wire left over that doesn't fit anywhere on this head unit, or in the factory screen which also uses different connectors to more recent versions.  I've seen the upgrade from OWC, and have sent the guy a message on eBay but no response yet.  I also don't particularly need the whole kit, just *maybe* an adapter for this one cable.  Did anyone else here have the same problem, or have any insight about what I can do to get this working?  I have been in contact with the seller but all they seem to be able to do is ask for more pictures and videos. Minor edit to add:  I have been researching and found a screen on Aliexpress that actually specifies my head unit in the listing, so these things do exist.  I will contact the seller to see if the wiring adapters are interchangeable with other screens.   Thanks in advance!
