Afm Dilemar

Ok, I just got a second hand Z32 AFM. Problem is - the grill is half destroyed (which is did not know before buying off a SAU member).

My stock one is in perfect condition. I'm only looking for 200kw - running lots of stuff but with stock turbo.

Which should I use? The z32 would be better - but does it matter if the grill is broken? (using with APEXI pod)

you can remove the mesh - up to 25% better flow (or so I'm told )

I have de-meshed AFMs on my GTR without problems

another vote for pissing the mesh off altogether.

first thing i do to my afms, never had dramas with any vehicle i have done it on, just better flow.

I think stock should do fine,

there's an argument if removing the mesh will do any difference at all. By removing the mesh you are removing a layer of filter in case something went past the filter.....

Doesnt the mesh serve purpose to break up the air so it is easier for the afm to read it?? divides it into smaller 'pieces' instead of one big block of air?...but once again im running no mesh on GTR afms and everything is fine...

Go the z32 thats what u bought it for..id think the mesh makes no diff at all.

Nah As mentioned above just used as a protection device for the hot wire element.

its air, it flows through

the mesh does not increase or decrease flow

it just prevents of big particiles going into the intake, if they happen to get past the airfilter element
