where can you get them so cheap from.. can i have one can i , can i ??

from what i understand it is steel wheeled right.. it will be able to deliver lots more power spooling up rather nicely with minimal lag if not the same driveability as the stock turbo just with many moons more power....

It would be a great turbo for RB20 and RB25's, according to a Performance shop in Adelaide they are rated at 400hp but can make 500hp in the right setup, they are supposed to spool up very similar to a stock RB25 turbo but with much improved mid-high power output. You need an adaptor plate to bolt them on a RB20-25 ($200) but you would need one for the GT30 aswell coz the .70 comp cover hits on the stock manifold so I'm told.

Hi Guys, as with all Garretts, the GT28BB comes with a bunch of alternate compressor wheels & covers and exhaust turbines & housings.

This is the spec we have used for 350 bhp on SR20;

0.64a/r Turbine Housing

0.60a/r Compressor Housing

Watercooled Centre

60 Trim Compressor Wheel

62 Trim Turbine Wheel

Integral Wastegate

Good boost at 3,500 rpm, full 1.1 bar at 4,000 rpm, max power at 7,250 rpm of 210 rwkw. Should do much the same on an RB20, maybe a little more. Cost us $2,100 brand new about 12 months ago.

Hope that helps.

    • Welcome. Dont let anyone dissuade you from your dreams. If you want a gtr, keep sabing and you will eventually get one. I feel like if I had have bought stocks, those companies would have gone bust and I would have lost my money.  There's a gamble in everything we buy. I've had good times and bad. But... I've also met my absolute best friend through this network and can't imagine life without them(more like a brother). Keep in mind, some specific mods will change as technology gets better. If you feel like general chat, there's always the wasteland.....
    • Those are some very cutesy barriers! Is that common?
    • Saw this abandoned Honda Fit in a carpark that was getting repaved... they just 'cut around it' and continued with the job! There's a number of reasons why the car could have been abandoned, but as for the construction company, legally they don't have permission to move the car from the owner (who has moved on and can't be contacted) so all they can do it just leave it there with enough space around it so it won't get damaged.
    • You’ll want to have the block drilled and tapped to suit 1/2in head studs and the head for the same. How much power do you intend to make?
    • Sorry for resurrecting an oldish thread Not much has happened in the past year since the last update. The car did another 1000 miles or so and failed the MOT for the first time in October (failed on tyres which had been advised for a couple of years) In October the car got put up for sale and was removed in November due to no interest, being so close to christmas it was to be expected. The roads were dry in February so I decided to tax it early and get the new tyres fitted.   Fast forward to April, I got someone in to give the car a good clean after sitting for the winter.                                 The car got re-advertised and today (Saturday 3rd May) the car sold. The new owner is planning a GTR conversion at some point and a respray in the same pearl white. It's bitter sweet, it's a shame to have the car sit there for half the year and then only do 1000 miles. The kids are growing too quick and space in the back is getting limited. It's been a great 6.5 years of ownership
