Hi all

Being dam hot here in Melbourne today (like 40 ) i had the aircon on and started to feel the air getting warmer. I pulled up at the lights and noticed steam. temp guage never got over half thank God.... :D

I was about 500 m from home . Soon as i got there (home) i looked under the bonnet and the steam was coming from behind the motor so i thought heater hose . turns out to be the little 1 under the heater hoses

I would have to say that its a utter bitch to get to..

Any 1 had this hose go ?

And whats the best way to get to it ?

OH yeah i have a R33 GTS-t with the Rb25

from memory can you see if its just come off the nipple at the head area as if it has just move the coil wires out of the way and have a better look, if it has you may be able to push it back on and then clamp it back up, but yep pointy nose pliers never go astray on there

If you're talking about the same one as I am, it's not that hard.

Is it the water feed/return line for the turbo? How it wraps aroudn the back of the block and has a little bit of rubber hose on it?

If so, check otu the tutorial section. For the r32 turbo swap thread.

You probably won't be able to undo the 24mm banjo witht he oil line in the way, so i'd just removoe the oil line. that'll take 2 secs.

Then unbolt the 24mm banjo, reach around the block and undo the hose clamp. etc etc

Or maybe, you might be able to just change the hose without removing the water and oil line all together.

Just giving you two ways to do it if you get stuck one way or the other

i think he means the feed to the turbo and yeah it isn,t fun took me a while to get it on and i had every angle long nose pliers that exist, lots of swearing to get the hose on and then the clamp cause it sorta catches ont eh bend where it goes round the back of the block. good luck.

yeah, that's what I figured, so that's why I thought remove the water line,s o that you can replace the hose, and do the clamp up first without the line being in the way when the space is already tight. Then you can put the water line into the other end of the hose, and do that clamp up?

Well my day went from good to very bad..

I got up this morning and fixed the nose ..took a bit but got it done..

I took it for a test drive..(not good)

Had water gushing out of over flow like a preasure cleaner..Bla Bla Bla

At the end of the story i have done the Head Gasket

Hey man, don't mean to question you but are you sure that your head gasket is actually blown, if so can you tell me how you came to the conclusion? If you didn't bleed the system and you took it for a drive and your gauge went way up you may have done the head gasket but it still may be ok.

I would love to think it wasnt the gasket......but

the water has gone from a nice green to a light brown thick oil based

and when i tried adding water at the service station it kept blowing back at me

and trying to get home i didnt put the cap on tight.. But it still built up enough preasue to blow

the top radiator hose to bits..

bad luck mate ;)

same hose i'm pissed off about right now, finished my rb25/30 conversion last week and discovered that this hose is on the verge of busting (spraying out at higher temps).. it's twice as fun to get to when you have the added height of the 30 block >_< then you've got to deal with the brake lines being in the way and all sorts of other fun stuff :laugh:
