There is obviously still a heap of them out there, though it is becoming clear that good examples are proving hard to find. Prices seem to have bottomed out at around $20-$25k and have been there a while.

Looking at the price of a 240z these days, it doesn't look like it will be too long before we see an appreciation in prices for the BNR32 and at least see it keep pace with inflation. I don't think buying one will make anyone alot of money for a few decades yet, though it is difficult to find a car that matches the GTR's collectibility for that era and I would think within 10 years they will start fetching a pretty penny.

What are your thoughts?

R32 GTR has been a dream car for ages. I could have bought one but went with an R33 GTS-t instead - will probably regret saving the 4 grand (even though I did it for a good reason) and pay through the nose to get a '32 when I'm old

Well having just bought another one from Japan I can tell you that late model non accident/repaired cars are getting really hard to find.

So putting aside the number of them in Australia presently, yeah I believe that good ones will be getting harder & harder to find. Whether or not that means they will get more expensive is a whole different question.

guess i should stop modifying it...

I know what you mean, I stop modifying mine for that reason.

Mods so far I have done are

Garret GT25/60R tubos.

Splitfire coils

FPC

Full zorst

Adj fuel pressure reg.

I have kept all my original part but not the turbos. They were stuffed.

What mods have you done so far?

yeah right. As if. there are so many of them. Collectors item or not, i'd much rather buy the latest car then as opposed to an old car.

just like now. would you prefer an ae86? or a skyline

Pretty unrealistic comparison tho, but i see where your coming from. IMO i prefer the 32 over the 33 purely on looks and its heritage. And that can make a car a collectors item in some regard. That sed tho, newer cars are always that- Newer. You get less problems, and are generally better engineered from factory. Each to his own i say. Guess all we can do is wait and see how the BNR's pan out.
