Biggest Restriction Of R34 Smic?

Just wondering what the biggest restriction of the r34 side mount intercooler is? Would it be the cooling capacity or would it be the shape and design of intercooler that imposes a restriction on airflow.

I ask this because I'm hoping to support 250rwkW (other mods of course) with an r34 SMIC and water injection would this be possible?

i could be wrong, but arent the r34 smic only good for 200rwkws, so in your case and your power goal..the r34 smic cooler may not be sufficient.

You deffinately wont get 250rwkw out of a r34 sidemount. My ARC sidemount maxed out at 210rwkw. Any more boost and it heat soaked very quickly followed by detonation. 200rwkw is about all you will push out of a 34sm.

smic should be good for 200rwkw with cool air temp I hit a wall with mine at 185rwkw with a air temp of 40 C

With a water sprayer it would do a little better but a front mount is the best option.

It'd be a combination of the design and cooling capacity. Have you done much research into water/meth injection? You may find that you don't need an intercooler at all with water/meth injection.
