hey mate.

that u its mark. with the R34.

u did pretty well for urself. im sure my GTR would pull off much the same times.. with a so called shane pussy launch.. :)

good to see u on the forums..

Hopefully the driver of the rail car wasnt a fatality - that would be a damn shame!

I didnt get to see too many skylines there - i was lookin for you guys but i was configned to the pit area for the rest of the night - red silvia EAT17 plates...

Anywho was an interesting night, i ran a best of 12.3@126mph with a 2.0 60 foot - my car wasnt really hooking up with my micky thompson et streets that well - came pretty close to the wall on one occasion. Still the purpose was to increase my half track to full track mph with my cam gear adjustments and i picked up about 5mph top end without it tuned properly- pretty happy about that.

On a sidenote i got done on the way home by dept of transport - they setup a roadblock and suffice to say i got reamed as they knew what they were lookin for - although the blokes where really nice so it didnt really bother me.

yes i dare say col would be in the 11 bracket with the mph down the track, god damn traction?? That seemed to be the issue with many cars there tonight, although had to leave early sorry didnt say cya to ya noel :P awell good night as i saw it. Cant wait till the 17th

bugga dude. where was the roadblock?

mark u softcork learn to do a skid :P

i was pretty disappointed with col and jared's cars, what was the go guys? :P

Yeah I'm pretty pissed to.

I couldn't get it to hook up and I got 2 bad starts and Mr clutch was slipping a lot at the end. I was going to save up and get a triple plate clutch but stuff this I'm going to put the single plate Ive got in it for now and get it re-tuned so it will perform a bit better.

2nd

I blew a hole through the exhaust on the way home some where i gotta find it this morning

3rd

Im never going on a Saturday again its crap those shit box v8's kept doing oil downs and stuff like that. Even the line to get a drink was as long as.

Werd. For all their noise they are just a pain in the arse. Every time delay was from some v8 shitting itself. Take them back to the shopping centre car parks where they belong.

The other annoyance were the v8 tools trying to win the race in the staging lanes. Just revving the tits off them for no reason other than they can.

Yep v8 shit tins. For the people going next Saturday. I was talking to col and theres a big meeting on the same day or the day after, so theres going to be a heap more shit tin V8's there getting in there oil down practices in. So be prepared for the wait.

Well Put it this way I got there at 4:40 around abouts and from there to 8:30 I got 3 runs in and its only going to be worse on the 17th by the sounds of it what a waste of time

Maybe the wednesday night sessions might be a better option?

yep..

was good last time i went to watch on wednesday.

i got ther at 4.30ish lined up near noel. and ran a BNR32 at around 5 or 6pm.. was pretty shitty with all the hold ups.. but goin from ryans pics at 3.30 when col was running ther looked to be 3 or 4 cars in the lanes.. so best to get a few runs in really early. :P

    • Out here E90s are the cheapest way into a sporty-ish car because everyone knows just how expensive the repairs can get. 8-10k USD for an automatic 335i.
    • Noted. Have noticed BMW are more 'high maintenance' for sure. They've attracted my attention as I think the used car prices seem reasonable vs other options, and the extra quality overall vs a commodore / camry / corolla or similar of the same vintage is appealing, especially the interior, and they are more on the sporty side whereas the others mentioned can be more cruising or economical A-to-B only.
    • Haha yeah I know, this is SAU after all, why are we talking about BMW's of all things!? I hear you on the 'don't have to worry about it' side of things. Having been fortunate enough to be have been able to buy a brand new motorbike or two...never really enjoyed them as much as I'd have liked as you worry so much about where you park it, will it get scratched, stolen, attempted theft, knocked over, etc...and yes dirty. Older less valuable bikes you can just go where you want and park it wherever and not really worry that much in comparison. And who cares if it gets dirty! Never owned a V8, and have had my eyes on VE / VF commodores for years but with their prices climbing so high, the M3 has come into focus more as prices are much closer than I've ever seen...is it a potential contender now?...of course need to factor in the S65 'maintenance' especially and like you said general M car 'tax'. One can dream anyway. But more on the reality front - did read the whole 330i thread as well and was a great read too, both threads enlightening as I've never even driven one of these cars! I do recall 330i didn't seem to have the same amount of issues for almost the same car (turbos and related differences notwithstanding)...perhaps down to getting it earlier in it's life so looked after better than the 335i? Perhaps so as your 130i has been good and quite similar, so finding a car that's been looked after well is the especially-crucial-BMW-first-step.
    • Nice. Dont worry about the time of not running. My current skyline hasn't run since I bought it. About 8 years ago.
    • It's also worth noting that I am heavily and unconditionally biased. I've had a lot of cars including some GTRs a fair while ago. I love my BMW's now a lot. They make no sense a lot of the time and the guys on here remind me regularly that I could get something else that does what I want better and cheaper. If you're going to take on an older BMW it's definitely a commitment. If you bail on it early you'll lose money and also the ability for it to put a smile on your face. Stick with it and it just gets better.  f**k I should get into advertising.
