hey fellas just tried to take out my tailights on my r33 coz there is water getting in them and i cant get them out! stubborn bastards

i undid the 5 10mm nuts around the edges and im guessing that is all thats holding it in? even gave it a good melting with the heat gun but still they wouldnt budge even after hitting the bolts with a hammer. Theyre stuck on real good.... anyone have any ideas how i can get them off?

heat gun and brute force.........hop in the boot of the car, warm the black glue up and then kick em out, put some drop sheets around and padding so they dont get damaged, and make sure the 6 nuts each die have been removed

its pushing the whole boot out lol. i have to give it a good go on the weekend maybe when i got half a free day

so im hoping this will fix the water in lights problem? doesnt seem to be any water in the boot just in the lights and i cant see any other way it can get in there

actually, it can get in there thru the lenses. they may be cracked or not sealed well due to age.

does the water gather at the bottom in the blinkers?

thats what mine was doing, so i took my bumper off, and drilled a couple of tiny holes up into the base of the blinkers so the water can drain out. you cant see the holes unless you look under the light. problem fixed.

I described my method in the tutorial for doing this resealing...

Block of wood (small) and push against the studs SLOWLY. If you kick or suddenly hit the assembly, you may put a dirty big crack in it!

I didn't heat anything up in the end, just push the other studs slowly with the block of wood, and the glue started giving way.
