And for the sakes of it, i reckon 250 rwkw should see you with a 11 with a good launch. I ran 12.18 with only 231rwkw.

was that with semi slicks or streeters when u ran that 12.98?

impressive time though man

what setup were you running when you ran both those times bud?

what would my r33 manual do with 317rwkw ? with 265 street rubber and with some nice slicks?

Could it be a 10 second car?

NO NO NO.....Mid 11's with slicks great lauch no wheel-spin.

Will only be a 10s if you push 400rwkw+

So need more power and be able to put it to the ground to get 10's.(NITROUS MAYBE)

400rwkw+ is not required for a 10-sec pass in a RWD car around 1400kg mark.

A good launch and sticky tyres and around 330-370 (depending on the setup which plays a big part) will net you a 10 easy enough.

You might even get there with 317, although im not sure exactly if it will or not.

Well into the 11's quite easily though.

400rwkw+ is definately not required for a high 10

Just my 2c,

Again I think its more upto the set-up rather than the power the vehicle is making...(power is a contributing factor, dont get me wrong.)

R33GOD, practice makes perfect thats all there is to it. The people posting that they ran hi 12s with 200rwkw did not do it on their first run ever, well I assume anyway. They have probably been going out a few times to practice there launches and get their 60fts down low and experimenting what rpm to change gears at...its all fun.

RE: running 10s -At that power level people usually are more consistant with quicker times with a built auto and soft suspension..

To put things into perspective, I know of many VL Turbos running hi 10s with just over 300rwkw...

example..320rwkw, hi-stall convertor, slicks, soft suspension(90/10 front shocks) etc etc, + slicks equats to 10.9's consistantly..ive seen this done before...

Thats more like 2$...

Thanks Daniel

I reckon 170rwkw-ish is all you need to crack 12.9 on road tyres as 2rismo has already mentioned. Drag radials lower again.

Of course if you have lots more power it makes it easier but, I reckon it's not that hard. Practice isn't a difficult thing to do, thats what some of it comes down to as others have mentioned. This kind of drag racing requires very little actual driver skill at all.

11's 317 ET no problems.....

10's especially mid tens...Drag race...reaction times and all....370+kws...

10's ...low type ET....400kws....and you better hold on tight...

12.98 was with street tyres with the normal bolt on stuff with a SAFC.

12.18 as per signature with semi road slicks.

Takes plenty of practise, as i said its all in the launch, from there on, its just slam those gears home.

Last night finally got my 12's

On street rubber@25psi (toyo t1r's 225/50/r16)

R33 Gts25t with power approx 220rwkw

60ft: 2.062

ET: 12.964

MPH: 111.86

Highest MPH i saw was a 112mph

Well done Ray, I told you it was in there, you just had to dig it out.

:P cheers :P

Hahhhaha i know ey! THanks Gary :P

I'm actually really happy with the turbo and tune the power delivery so nice and smooth although its laggy my fault(my choice), even with 220rwkw and 225 street rubber i have NO traction issues its a good feeling.

Going to get myself on a set of drag radials now hehe 2rismo where are you?

First run, no burn out SOSK found 0.3 sec using the MT ET's.

I know this is a little off topic but are there any thoughts on what sort of rpm to shift at with an RB25 on the drag strip? Is it necessary to wring it's neck to 7200 rpm? or shift a little earlier - say 6500 to 6800?

I could only manage 13.9 @ 100mph (on a 2.1sec 60ft) shifting gears at 7000 rpm in my R34 GTT (with 185rwkw and street tyres).

Depends on alot of factors like your power/torque curve peak power point, post up your dyno graph so we can analyse it.

i was shifting at 7100-7200 but i've got a rebuild engine and my power curve just keeps climbing with the boost holding up top, its different for each car.

Should be up changing much earlier than 7200rpm, try 6500-6800rpm.
