Hey guys,

I need the plastic cap that goes at the end of the shifter. The car I bought (last week) has a C's copy shifter which popped out the other day. On closer inspection I found that this part was split. The car is a 1993 GTS-T R33.

I have tried one Nissan dealership but the parts guy said they can't find the part number for it and hence can't order it.

Having done a search on the forum, a guy with an R32 mentioned he bought one of these for $4 from Nissan....perhaps they don't have this for an R33 or perhaps the guy isn't trying hard enough? I'll keep trying other Nissan dealerships too...

Does anyone have a spare one they want to sell me for a reasonable price? Or even a standard shifter?

If anyone can help out - that would be much appreciated.

Cheers,

Aaron.

For future reference:

Hi Aaron

Ask the dealer in OZ for part number # 32861 01G00. The small bush fits a number of vehicles which is common through out the Nissan range.

the reason it is split is because the copy shifter does not come with it so you have to use the original one and the only way to get it on is to split it(cut it with a razor or thin hacksaw). im pretty sure if you get a new one you will have to cut it to get it in again.....its a vicious cycle..ha

i have one of these copy kits thats why i know.

it looks like its a pretty common bush that I've seen on a couple of different manual gearboxs mitsu toyota suzuki.

Have you tried a bearing place, look up yellow pages under bearings and bushes and ring around most bearing places sell everything from seals to bolts, bearings gaskets bushes etc etc

If that fails a gearbox specialist may have one lying around.

From memory that bush should sort of clip on eg place it on a sturdy surface put shifter on it then push down firmly, don't think you need to cut it, although I've never fit a short shifter before so you may be right

Hope this helps guys

Cheers Matt.
