I spent all of yesterday in a machine shop doing the maching myself. I will give you guys details tomorrow on how to make a deposit of 35$ to cover materials.

since this is just a mechanical lockout, wont you get problems with the HICAS light coming on? and possibly any other steering problems?

Have a search, there is a few threads about locking the HICAS and do's/don'ts.. i.e. remove all the hydraulic lines (for R32), leave the HICAS computer plugged in or you get heavy steering etc etc.

I am saying have a search, R33 is different to R32. R33 being that it is electronically controlled via a motor on the HICAS rack, R32 is controlled hydraulically via a solenoid. I do know that if you just unplug/rip out the HICAS computer, you will lose your speed sensitive steering. Other than that, I don't know of any issues with removing the rack itself. Search, it is your best friend There are also DIY/Tut's on installing a HICAS lock bar.
