Great job in putting a nice display together & I think SAU held it's own.

The SAU name seemed to be known there, had a few randoms strike up conversation about Skylines & the club.

Twas a pleasure meeting most of you guys/galz who came on the Sunday & was good way to finish off my visit...actually bumping into 4 of the Glamazon dancers at the airport for a quick bite was but yeah :P

James,

You take the colour... I'll take the ferrari....deal..or no deal?

I think Charlie is referring to the "red" shoes...hehehehehe I saw few running around too. My cars always goes with shoes? Maybe next year we get few promoters to...MISS SAU. or..not. Lets stick to our world where we are best.

I think we sent the message who we actually are. I personally do not want a car with plasma screens in my head lights or a fish tank in my rear seat. I LOVE MY LINE THE WAY IT IS.....:P))

EUG.

Not that I'm taking offence to your comments at all but I think we were just showing what we as a club are about. We drive our cars and I think that's the main difference between us and most of the other show ponies there.

respect. completely get your meaning. i wasn't having a dig at sau or telling anyone how it should be done. i just had a different idea in my head of what to expect. praise to sau for organising it

Hi all :P - ...all in all a great weekend i thought - i loved the fact that the damaged targa car was there in all its glory - even though none of our cars are "blingy" i feel thats its really important to have a club stand at auto salon as not everyone who attends is into that sort of thing - i guess my only disappointment is that after a huge "sell" to me in person by auto salons magazine National Advertising Director that the "new direction" for the mag & event was to move away from bling towards nicely maintained well set up sports cars !!?? - that 99% of the awards were given to "novelty cars" - the ones with plenty of show but no go ! :( - oh well maybe it will take some time for the "new direction" to take hold - lets hope so :O - to me the most honest award given was for probably my show favourite which was the VC VALIANT SEDAN - BEEEEEAAAUTIFUL !! - how that '66 MINI COOPER or Johns 300ZX Circuit beast didnt come home with some perspex is a question i cant answer - hope to see you all soon - cheers M :(

hey, i had a great wknd with my red nugget all on its own in the dome. Thanks to all the SAU members that popped over during the weekend to say g'day and the nice comments i got, and i big thanks to corinne for non stop bugging me until i filled out a membership form (the money is on its way)

I nearly won most powerful FWD. I got 182.2kw which is down from my 195kw run when i 1st got the blower and i have modified a few things since. the car that beat me ran 180, then 190kw back to back and won, talk about fantasy readings!!! I also found out i finished 3rd overall mitsu at the show as a one of the staff chicks i chatted up over the weekend told me. If you guys remember the chick organising the dyno cars, yeah thats her :P

I have also entered the gold coast round of autosalon next month so will be making the treak north with a way better display to see if i can get some more recognition.

hope all you sau guys had a blast as well

jase

Good stuff. Nice ! Great the you have it on the Rd again ! >_<

Ditto mate. Cruise time. :(

Btw, I worked out that the dyno operator was only revving my engine to 7400 rpm...with peak power still rising. But still pleased with the result.

Kel's got plenty of pics to post, including every promo girl we could find next to Mark's car lol.

Huge thanks to Paul, Jess, Corrine and Nick in particular for getting this off the ground, we have talked about this for a few years and it was great to finally make it happen.

And well done to the whole team who put there cars there for the weekend to help promote the club. We signed up 4 new members and sold about 10 shirts which is great for the clubs profile.

thanks jess n andrew for the lifts. surely will be seeing you again. good to meet everyone.

>_< was our pleasure any time

Sorry i didnt make it guys my nan got sick so went and seen my grandparents

:( no worries bud hope all is well family comes first.

Photos come up good, the only thing with salon is that if you have a nice track car like most SAU cars are sleek and quick not showy, you are never really gonna stand out to the younger people who attend the show that is all about 22s and chrome in saying that after doin final battle last year i wouldnt mind doin it in a group display. Just needs a good theme which is usually the hard part
