Yep when discussed with Jason from Custom Carbon $1500 was the best price he could give for final completed product, he was happy for me to post that price to gauge interest but Depending on numbers we may be able to get them cheaper maybe not.

This is not a final price YET hence not posted on the group buys till we can ascertain numbers and Jason can confirm 100% this can be done.

The deposit was more to cover the cost of the mold making than anything else and ensures people wont drop out once they have ordered materials or even spent time making parts seems fair enough really to me.

Unfortunately I was unable to ring him today as was without electricity all afternoon and flat out busy this morning, I apologize to all for that. Will try tomorrow as need to discuss other stuff and would like to firm this up with some numbers too if possible will post back if I can get a hold of him. He may not answer the phone on weekends if not will talk to him on Monday and post back results of that conversation then.

I think we will have numbers or Damn close by then anyway!

PS Sorry Noy - my post edited for Dry carbon :(

No problems mate,

if ya can't get ahold of jason just shoot me a PM with the questions you want answered and i'll call him for ya...

cheers Noy

Idea was complete unit in carbon, though the uprights would I suspect have to be joined to the blade and would probly be a noticeable join if u know what I mean will be putting it to Jason tomorrow with the numbers we got and see how it works out and try to firm up prices etc. more people would have let the price and deposit be lower, we still have to cover the mold costs so 3500 divided by how many were keen at the moment 4 so 875 each as deposit

Jason was keen to do 6 or more so may not be keen

I think posted in group buys with exact price etc may have more takers

Will see tomorrow if he is keen and post back here to see what we ALL want to do.

I've not seen CCs process but I would imaging it would be easier to mould the wing in 3 pieces.

To start, I appreciate your efforts Noone so please dont take what i'm about to say as being destructive or devisive.

So if we're paying for the mould we own it, or at least some of it,...right? If we are paying to make the mould we should either get a piece of every wing that comes out of it or it should be destroyed upon completion of the wings we order. If I were to have a billet cylinder head cut I would pay for the programming of the CNC and that programme would be mine and no cylinder head could be cut using that programme without a royalty paid to me - what the difference?

This could be one way to go..if I were a prick - why dont I pull out let you guys pay for the mould and then approach CC and get them to make one for me, without having to pay for a mould. My point is I would want some clarification as to my cost and the disposition of the mould in the future and the price CC will charge subsequent buyers.

Agreed... I would only want the 3 piece version (i.e. exact replica).

Thanks for doing all the leg work too.

Okay guys got some good and some bad news. thanks for all the praise for organising this u might change your minds now though as I have stuffed up a little.

When I soke to Jason initially I thought the 1500 total was the price and any deposits we payed were subtracted from this amount eg. pay 500 deposit only 1000 left to pay on 1500 total. I WAS WRONG.

This is not Custom Carbons fault it was simply my misunderstanding, sorry. The 1500 price didnt include costs for the mould, these cost would have to be paid ontop of this 1500.

So here is how it now stands

For 2000 total per wing Jason can do 4 wings

1500 +500 deposit each he will make up the rest for costs of making the mould

For 6 takers he could do them for 1800

For 10 takers he could do them for 1700

To answer the other questions Keets I see were u r coming from but I also see Jasons side of it retail after this ONE OFF group buy estimated price is 2500 a wing, if they dont turn out to be a complete bitch to make & they may. And as it is Nissan's design not ours and hell I wouldn't know what to do with the mould afterwards anyway Jason would keep the mould I think u can agree with that yeah? no offence meant or anything

Ronin in reply to your question I hadnt had the stock wing off myself and hadnt realised it was three pieces Jason had planned in doing it as a one piece deal. basically a top and bottom moulds and bonded together along the front and rear of the wing proper (if u know what I mean) he said he had planned to roll the "join" to just under the front and rear edges of the wing so it wasnt so noticeable. hope that makes sence.

Okay guys balls in your court I would still like to go ahead with this, price is better than the electra-cps deal before freight to OZ and I think the quality is about the same level, Jason seems to be on the level about it all and I will repeat the error was mine, not him changing the deal or anything.

So what shall we do, Can post this now as a Group Buy, can do it as is for the 4 who have shown intrest thus far, we could can the whole deal.

I am still keen and think posting as a group buy to see how we go could be the way what do you guys think?

Thanks for getting back to us Noone, The point is made and I'm happy we get a price break on the first batch. The construction method sounds appropriate and will preserve the the look of the piece. I've no doubt about the quality so I guess I'm still keen...gulp  I dont think we will get many more than 4 though

yeah, I'm going to go weak sauce and pass on this. just spent $6K in the last week on the GTR, and only about $1100 of that was planned, the rest was pure impulse buying, so I need to pull things in a tad I think. lol.

yeah depending on how many we get in...

but my g/f will leave me... and I like her more than a c/f wing

Also noone, when I was saying "3 piece" i was talking about the wing itself being in 3 pieces when you mount it to your boot on piece is the blade and end plate bits, one each are the uprights as in this pic (except this is for R34):

gallery_1486_103_10335.jpg

I know what you mean by the wing blade having to be made of 3 "pieces" but it will be one unit when done.

Cheers

Glad to hear I am not gonna get lynched or anything

Baron and Justin hope you guys reconsider these will be nice, Ronin I am sure I red somewhere on this site "girlfriends come and go skylines are forever" U know you want one!

Freight on these should be minimal as they will be very light.

If Justin and Baron drop out that only leaves 3 of us so will have to post as an official group buy and try to raise numbers if all are okay with that I will do so and see how we go,

Justin can u let me know how much the sard gt wing is its either that or the cusco for me I guess if this doesn't happen :(
