Ok guys, sorry to bother everyone but i would really like to find out a specific answer to a few of my questions, as I keep getting a different answers from each person I talk to.

1. Can I bolt on (with no or minor modifications) an R32 GTR engine/gear box into a R34 GTT ? (If 32gtr cant, can 33gtr engine/gearbox?).

2. What engine/gearbox mounts do i have to use ? GTR or can i use the GTT ones ?

3. How much roughly to convert the gear box from 4wd to 2wd ?

4. What would be better off, buying a 32gtr front cut or waiting for a cheap engine, gearbox, ecu etc etc to pop up and buy everything sepretaly ?

Thanks and sorry if thia has been covered before, but i looked and couldnt find the answers.

1. yes

2. gtt

3. you can't unless your r34 has a gt4 chassi, which im assuming yours does not

4. whatever you get the best price on.

Ive seen people put GTR boxes in gtsts and use them RWD...i drove in a CB lancer that had a VR engine/gearbox (4wd) put in and its now running FWD...

Im pretty sure it can be done ?

And no i dont have a gt4 i have a gtt.

Thanks for the quick reply  !

You need to chop off the transfer case... in basic terms... you have a GT-t

The gearbox is newer than the GTR gearbox, and the same strength.

So no point using a GTR gearbox as converting a GT-t to 4WD is an absolute waste of money

Fair enough if they are the same strength, and Im not trying to make it 4wd, i was just thinking if i buy a front cut of a 32gtr, might as well use the gearbox and thrash it and if engine/box blows, i have my stock bits to go back in.

OR... you could just spend the money on building a solid GTT engine and save a sh!tload of time and effort and make the same power at the rear wheels as the GTR engine would...

Thats just what i would do... up to you though, its your car.

:D

If it blows?

You realise what its going to cost you labour wise for the conversion ye?

Sounds just a "little" silly to say ... i just wanna do it and if it blows ill change it back

Hardly a worthwhile excercise

The only labour that i will need to pay for it the wiring, rest in not a problem at all.
