sound is close. video is off a bit.

do a google of australian TV frequencies and that will tell you what you are asking - then do a google on japan you will see the difference.

Tomorrow i will have a contact to solve or your problems, (but its not cheap - im told)

The place i just bought my car from is going to give me a number of a guy who converts the whole system to english.

Sat Nav with Austrlian maps

DVD player - region 4

TV - Australian Channels

MD PLayer

The whole thing is Converted to english

He told me it cost Approx $1400.

But i'll get all the info Tomorrow and post it!

not for $1400. that has come up before to no avail..

only way to do it (to my knowledge) is to get the US version OR have the software to reprogram the car. even then I'm not entirely sure you can access those areas.

the Nav system will NOT be the original one.

Sorry, thats what i meant to reprogram the car.

Thats what i been told anyway, but once i pick up the car tomorrow and get his number ill give him a call and let you know

thats fine. price out most of those items - I think you will find that its MUCH more than the amount you quote. the NAV unit is $1100 by itself!

DVD unit - last 'cheap' one I used was over $300.

TV - going digital -properly- $800+ the EBay unit floating around is marginal at best as a customer of mine found out.

MD - why?

hey mate

sounds good, but the issue is that the unit is not actually converted..

what the person will be doing is plugging an all-in-one unit into the aux input on the current nav that will do all the above functions

so you will be left with the japanese setup of nav etc that still won't work but you will have a box somewhere that will plug into the sound and screen of the original unit and control a separate nav, DVD, and TV.

the issue with TV is that you can't get good reception when moving. the others won't be an issue if you can find a unit that will do all those things and do them well.. chris is trying to utilise the stock areials on my back window and will be using a separate signal booster and using all of the aerials this week to see if we can get some decent reception. currently with only 1 aerial plugged in, i get less than 5% signal strength on the tv tuner and that's never going to give a stable picture..

let us know how you go, and particularly what brand of unit he will be using for you

cheers,

Warren

if that was you asking about the AC controls - yep you need the other ones. if you have dual climate then they need to be modified to work. the screen isn't useless btw it can be used with TV and a host of other things if you can be inclined to do so. that said if you wish to sell yours I'm interested.

Hi guys,

I am not up to speed like you guys on the subject. I am looking at getting a V35 shortly and just looking at working out if this tv/nav is worth all the trouble !!

I have been in contact with av electronic in the US and they have a av input device that is pre-set up for the G35 and only one wire to CUT!!

It will give you 4 AV inputs, 4 AV outputs, S video input, auto detect of revervse for camera and some other stuff.

The only other problem is that it is designed for NTSC, but they tell me if you run your DVD/TV/NAV through this unit you have to switch the out put to NTSC on the device and only need to install a aerial?

Is this a solution to get it all with out the hassel? The unit is around $600 delivered. Maybe a group by might get it cheaper...

What are your guys thoughts or is this what you are not trying to do?

waste of effort. what they are selling you is something you already have. the unit has ALL that already.

its not that easy btw. ESPECAILLY in a 2004.5 and up.

hi, as chris was saying the japanese V35 350GT and american infiniti G35, although visually ismilar are not optionedthe same

they don't have the TV tuner that we have in our cars

thus they have no provision for an aux input as standard

instead, they have satellite radio which is in its place (that's what's where our TV button it)

the box you are talking of jumps in front of hte sat radio to give aux inputs according to the G35 wiring

the V35 wiring is different, plus we already have an aux input on the TV tuner so we don't need that box! the only issue is that the aux input is in the boot rather than behind the dash..

The Murano has a DVD Sat Nav

Dose anyone know someone with a Murano? could put the dvd in the Skyline and see if it works.

Best regards,

its a xenavi. I have one here. the whole system is xenavi and THERE ARE NO MAPS FOR IT.

the murano is a VDO system. the disc is DIFFERENT and WILL NOT WORK in this car. I can take pix of this if you like as I have a V35 downstairs in the workshop now to further prove teh point.

didn't you have a contact you were going to publish ..?

Need to speak to a guy called Kwong.

I havn't called him yet, because i wanted to see if there was a DVD instead of spending the money on Having the system done.

But i do know its not $1400 like i was told before its approx $2200.

I know that a new DVD player is installed

and a GPS Is installed in the boot and wired to the existing display.

But once again this is second hand info

So speak to Kwong to confirm it.
