I can appreciate the amount of time and money he must have spent on it.

Just out of curiosity, if I dug a massive hole and shovelled 2 skip-bins' worth of $5 notes into it, could you appreciate the amount of time and money I spent doing it?

Assuming you weren't allowed to go and dig it all up afterwards, of course.

No because thats just a waste of money.

This guy obviously has a different taste in modifying vehicles to what I do. He's spent a lot of time and money preparing the car to satisfy his tastes, which i can admire and respect even though his car doesn't particularly appeal to me, its plain to see he has put some effort into it.

Being a cockhead and throwing money away in a hole using a shovel is another matter entirely :P

How do you know that my hobby isn't burying treasure and living out my pirate fantasies? Or I'm a furry, and burying stuff is foreplay before I go shag my partner while we're both wearing dog costumes? Different tastes, etc....

All I'm saying is that appreciation can only go so far. I appreciate guys who build track-focused Integras, even though I don't like FWD. I appreciate people who are into hang gliding, even though I'd never strap myself to an oversized kite and jump off a cliff.

This, on the other hand....taking a reasonable car and a reasonable amount of cash and coming back with something unreasonable. He could have built a car like Shonen's. Instead, he built something that looks like a dog ate a paint box and then vomited all over it.

We could sit here and argue on technicalities all day, but that would be taking the thread off topic. Bottom line is its a subjective opinion, and neither of us are wrong because its all about personal perception of the situation.

PS. Fur-Fag... KAWAII!!! ^_^ kekekekekkeke desu desu desu desu desu desu desu let us continue this on /b/.

Hey its on fire...oh no its not :P

Seriously James it's ass and no just subjectively, technically as well. There is no cohesion at all, I cant figure out what the idea is...probably none. Roll cage and a big screen TV...WTF! 5inch taco yes taco mmmm mexican food, in the passenger footwell, yellow and black leather with matching yellow dash surrond with a 300k speedo :P . Man this thing is all over the place then top it of with the tail light swap and, what are they, GT-C Volks and the ghey flames. Man needed someone to tell him when he started to STOP! and have a think or buy a copy of option or hyper rev or HPI and "get on the trolley".

In the end it is his money and it is his expression so meh, just hope it doesnt park in my street

    • I mean, if you were to move the jacking points away from the original location, that is, away from the wheels and closer to the centreline of the car, then it will be more likely to overbalance and tip off the supports. Same as we talked about before. I was talking about moving for-aft. If the sill is bent outward or inward, then the car would obviously look unstraight from the outside. Hopefully that hasn't happened either. Again, you can do comparative measurements from the chassis rails to see if there is much deflection.
    • Can you elaborate what you mean with your first sentence? I meant move as in the bulge kinda seemed like it got pulled "outward" meaning it got pulled down and to the side with the jacking rail itself, so the load bearing bulge now sits lower than usual and is not level with the sill on the other side of the jack point. Either that or the jacking rail just got pushed in a good bit.
    • As well as being risky WRT tipping off anyway. Yeah, I wouldn't expect it to move. Just measure from the rear one to the front one on the good side, then measure that same length on the wrecked side. You will find the notches in the pinchweld, and the jacking pad. Just spray a spot of marker paint or something there.
    • but any other area than the bulge you are talking about will just cave in then? The front driver side is pretty bent so I don't know if that will work the way it is now. I can still kinda make out where that bulge is/was but it looks like the position of it also changed due to all the mistreatment? Hard to tell
    • Absolutely. Look very closely at the photo (of yours) that I took my second snip of. See how the sill is thicker material right behind the pinchweld, where the two notches are? That is the factory reinforced area for lifting. That pad is supposed to carry the weight. The factory jack (go look at it, and how it interfaces with the car at the pinchweld) shows you exactly how the load is carried from the car to the jack to the ground.
