Hi I have a quick question in relation to my Yellow Top battery I bought about 12 months ago.

I have a optima deep cycle 41 A/H 500CCA Yelltop battery, I belive its a D51.

I'm using the battery in my 1990 nissan skyline GTR. My problem is this : I was running a mono block amp (sony XM-D1000P5) and a simple two channel amp. The stereo was fine.

Recently the 2 channel amp broke down and I replaced with a 4channel amp. After doing this my stereo now chops / cuts out after 10 ~ 15 minutes of playing at loud volume....

What I mean by chops out is that the mono block amp and sub continue to run along with my head unit but the front and rear fill running off the 4 channel amp chops out (cuts out).

So I bought a 1 farard capacitor to try and fix this problem, but it still occurs. Then I also ran a new 4 guage earth cable in the boot direct to the 1 Farah capacitor and also to the negative side of the battery to try and remedy the problem, still happens.

THE PROBLEM STILL OCCURS.... Also for infomation my mono block amp uses 10.5 ~ 16 Volts and the current drain at rated output 90A (at 2 ohms) and my new sony 4 channel amp (sony MSD46X) and the Current drain is (@ Rated Power - 4Ω): 31Amps. So my question is can the Optima yellow top battery handle my CAR amps or what else do you think the proplem can be....??

PS : Also does anyone know the output of a 1990 R32 GTR alternator?? see if may be a problem aswell?

if you had an electircal problem the car probably would not run properly. I would look at what you have changed.
