There was no doubt in the figures previously recieved just interested in the variation between alot of cars with similar or more extreme mods than above mentioned, although closed on arguing this, will do my own r+d for improvement :P altho well done on that figure anyway Cheers A

Will be doing some r+d on this topic at my time will post results when i ascertain where i went wrong as my torque reading should be alot higher aswell especially with the mods and turbo choice i have gone? will keep people posted on this result and for those concerned YES i will use richards dyno again as this is the only best was to compare results and limit the possibilities of errors that could be very well encounted. Col is right on one area the comparison of results is very important hence why such use of the same dyno is important as it gives you far better chance in finding what you have done right what a certain problem may be. and if you change something does it improve or not improve results.

Lastly the original tune done by richard on the same dyno was read at 208 rwks with the same tyres but after noticed the tyres were slightly flat well 14psi difference so instead of 38 both sides one was 24 one was 36 psi checked the day after results. And aparently on the same boost. Interesting? So once my injectors are in my new boost controller is in will take back for a freshup tune and get results hopefully more improvement.

From here will locate the boost guage in too different spots one before inlet of cooler run that and then do a recheck on result verses outlet of intercooler, This will eliminate the source that the cooler is or maybe the bottleneck in my mods. This will clear alot of things up. Tyre choice could be an issue so if someone wants to let me there tyres/rims for this session would be also interesting to see if this improves/or leaves result as the same. Not many possible bottlenecks i can see after this. cam choice Maybe? As i am running standard cams, yet tho this may not be an issue. TB or inlet plenum it could be but have seen these items past 300rwkws (Col) and many more on this one im not sure if that is such a restriction issue.

But once when i have further results i will be surely able to clear a few issues up here.

For those interested my torque figure was 1364 N.M at 132 kmph. For those wanting of my mods those members may clear that up on page 4 in mod thread of members section.

Thankyou

Cheers

Adam

So was my car the only car to piss out oil onto the floor :P Something that i dont understand tho, I had a max torque of 1259 Nm on my printout. But from factory is 353 N·m. Whats going on there ?

1259 Nm is at the wheels, so your diff ratio will multiply your real fly wheel NM's...

In short find out your rear diff ratio and take thr 1259nm and devide it by the diff ratio to get the fly wheel NM... Simple... :)

As i am running standard cams, yet tho this may not be an issue. TB or inlet plenum it could be but have seen these items past 300rwkws (Col) and many more on this one im not sure if that is such a restriction issue.

Hey Adam, have not be ignoring you just be super busy with photos/video and trying to answer a million questions via PM.

Ill give you all the info you need to know in the next few days, but yes in short I have stock cams and a stock inlet manifold. But a few key modifications are needed to push the extra ponnies... I will talk to you soon...

Edit... Oh forgot, its a Garret brand GT30 0.7 front cover and 0.82 rear with external wastegate. The trim is standard GT30/40 Garrett issue.

No problem col, i realise the busyness you are in at the moment, must say is this alway like this for ya after a dyno event :P lol
No fortunatlly... :)

But ideas and feedback via PM is always welcome, cant improve unless you know where to improve...

glad you can see and understand out point of view col. again hats off to the execs.

power figure wise, it doesn't matter if it's reading high or low. as long as it is consistent (which it wasn't)

i suppose people prefer dyno dynamics to other dynos, because not only does it have a higher power reading. BUT it is considered a standard i.e. autosalon, etc.

edit: what nathan said.

top stuff

Who owned that white 33 with the bomex/veilside looking kit with the nose off? That was the most incredible engine sound i've ever heard, and i'm not even into cars that much.

Seriously wow

That would be me by the sounds of it. I love the sound of it too I cant get enough of it

I only had the bar off because there no way I would of got over that hump to get on to the dyno.

Spewing about the power figure thou. Theres something wrong somewhere. I got 330rwhp ages ago with a lot of problems and clutch was one of them. This time 90% of the problems have been fix and cams put in but I got a lower power figure but the car feels a lot faster on sure of that. Ill say the std clutch would not of helped it in anyway thats for sure,

Ill the car to gavan woods to find the problems, install the new clutch, and tune it and hopefully then ill be pushing 300rwkw's

EDIT: And it only hit 0.55 of a bar on them runs. Thats the other thing I need fixed

Oh Please explain on this lol. sounds like fun. Cheers A

Obviously they opened the bonnet to check before the dyno, and when I drove it out again, I never noticed they'd only just laid it back down and not shut it properly (probably shouldn't have been staring at all the far sexier skylines and paying attention ahead instead).

So I hit the ramp onto the gateway, hit 100 and just see my bonnet start wobbling like crazy (it seems that 100 is the magic number for getting it to do that, doing 60-70 all the way up sandgate road and it just sat there and didn't move).

I was just like... oh shit... the first exit wasn't for at least a couple of k's down the road, those where some "fun" k's.

I believe shootout mode was created to remove differences between dynos and conditions at different workshops on different days. Whether shootout mode reads high or low is irrelevant as it should always be consistent.

Agreed

You'll be there in no time Jarrad...

Yeah at half a bar with a slipping clutch i reckon you did well to get 230rwkw...

Cant wait to see her with a new clutch and some more boost...

You should catch up and ill have to put some cams in to reclaim bragging rights...
