yer i read that but i belive they are just direct replacement for a rb20 as they use solid lifters ??

No they dont, you will need a solid lifter kit, and a set of camwheels(to replace the vct), probably want a set of springs at the same time also. Dont know how much gain there would be though.

depends on the model of RB25. Like Adriano said, i think VCT might be an issue. Other than that it should be like the RB20 swap, solid lifters. (SHOULD)

No, RB20's and 25's use hydraulic lifters. To use solid type cams you will need solid lifters due to the different ramp rates (to my understanding).

Solid type cams - Solid lifters

Hydraulic type cams - Hydralic lifters.

Stick to them rules, it's like that for a reason

yer i know that if you have solid cam you use solid lifters dont have to be a genius

i thought that the rb20 had solid lifters... my bad

does any one know where i can get slid lifters from and i have a set of adj cam gears so i got that covered i also have new spring just being put in so that is covered to

im guesing i will have more power through the mid range ???

I put a set of GTR cams in my Series 2 rb25.

Motor didnt like it all.

spent heaps of time on the dyno trying to get it right.. but couldnt make any power... max power made was like 230hp...

threw the stock cams back in and it was heaps better...

Didnt do anything about eh VCT.. just put the cams in to see if they worked. as there was all this hype about how good they were going in RB20's

So im not sure whether there are things you can do to make them work.. but all i did was prove they are not a direct replacement :D

Why would you want to put a set of GTR cams in for ?

Keeping the VCT is the best idea. I run 270deg 8.9mm of lift in my RB25, retaining the VCT, and the engine makes over 400rwkw and redline of 8500rpm.

The only benefit of the solid lifters is you can rev higher, but most people don't need more than 8000rpm.
