hey fellas just wondering how the hello do i take the crimped positive battery terminal off the positive lead of my car? i dont think i can wedge something in it and loosen it off the wire as it is solid as! and i feel that if i cut it after the crimp it will not be long enough to reach the terminal.

surely someone has done this before and has some advice for me? is it possible to maybe remove the positive wire from a source further back ? ie in the black fuse box somehow?

Hi mate,

You could just change the wire completly. What i did is take the whole positive wire out and coz it was crimped so well i (not reccomended) drilled out the old wire and then opened the crimper that way. Put a new wire and and easy peasy where do you want your batery

Just a thought

:)

I'll second that. Get an autosparky to make a new one if it's easier for you.

Otherwise, big-ass guage cable, a nice gold-plated battery terminal with clamp-style rather than crimp-style wire connections, then the other end, which is on a big O-ring kinda plug I think from memory?

Make it up, take the old one off the battery and the fuse-block, then put the new one on!

Careful with any cutting or removing or levering with metal things. You don't wanna accidentally short your battery on the underside of the parcel tray (or any rear strut-brace you may have) ;o)
