(check the mad Monaro drifting - that was magic stuff !)

I must appologise to the Skyline gang if I intimidated you on the track, letting you pass then pushing you and passing etc. Not much fun going around and around by oneself. I was mostly playing with paul Mad GTR and had a ball. You guys kept getting in the way of me zed though, he he.

Also I was going to the Pub with you guys afterwards and was on the way until the local Gistapo caught up with me at the Shell servo who obviously missed the Skyline convoy leaving the track. They wanted to know why my exhaust was sticking out the side of the car type thing. I kept them occupied for a while unfortunately, but kept them off you guys for a change.

yeah john when I came off the skid pan you where gone, you must have gone just a tad ahead of me. Its a real shame about the Gestapo giving you a hard time, did you give them a bit of the ex police man charm?

I rekon we all chip in, buy that Datsun and give your zed a run for its money.

rofl datsun 120Y :D

BTW, for anyone who isn't sure yet, that car of Akira's is pretty damn quick

    • Does anyone know what the centreline should be for the vct intake cam? On my cam spec card it just says VARI and doesn’t actually tell me what the centreline should be. I had to adjust my exhaust cam gear by about 5 degrees advanced so I’m guessing I would have to adjust my intake as well? Current intake centreline is 119 deg. Iv already asked kelford and they won’t respond, It’s the 246-A 262 cams.  thanks for the help guys
    • Get a timing light on it and verify it's sparking reliably at a sane ignition timing. Use a COP extension lead to be 100% sure about timing instead of hoping that the timing loop on the back of the engine is accurate. Make sure it's actually injecting fuel. MAF is not used on the stock ECUs for initial cranking.
    • RE5R01A is the transmission. Didn't realize they had a 5 speed for the NA cars but for some reason the turbo engines stuck to 4 speeds. Looks like the solenoid block is still available from Nissan directly at a somewhat reasonable price: 31940-60X01 https://www.amayama.com/en/genuine-catalogs/epc/nissan-japan/skyline/er33/6568-rb25de/trans/317 I would move sooner on this than later. The moment the de minimis exception for Japan goes away expect to be paying 25% tariffs even for stuff like this.
    • Only RB26 are low from factory. And even then the ECU actually want high impedance, because it's essentially the same ECU as the RB20 anyway, and thus they have a f**king resistor pack!
    • Is this preventable by priming the system with external oil pressure? I've seen the speed academy folks hook up an external oil priming system to the oil pressure sensor port with an air compressor to check for oil leaks before putting an engine back in a car. Something like this: https://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS/555/23550/10002/-1?gPromoCode=SPRINGINTOSPEED_APR25_5Off&gQT=1
