still, not a bad game to practice on....shame supercar is the only thing you can drive on ec and oran park. at least at bathurst a range of cars is available.

prank, i'm happy to pass on bad habits, I think I've got a few passenger laps booked!

Myself Knat and 3 other guys from work organise a LAN game of V8 Pro Race Driver usually about every 3rd friday night (from 8pm-4am) absolutely awesome when playing against 5 workmates.

We actually find for the best LAN Racing the Mini Cooper-S is great around bathurst. I can do faster laptimes with them than using a 600hp Stockcar.

Ok people... don't forget that we need to be at the track NO LATER than 8am but preferably by 7:30am.

I'll aim to set up shop at garage 31-34 so look for me in that area.

Debriefing will be as usual at the Cricketers Arms from approximately when you get sick of driving to when you get sick of talking shit and/or bragging about how you smashed that manaro when you did your hot lap of 1:34.893 with other skyline drivers.

Looking forward to it.

Dan.

Hey Talej, particularly if you've not been before, come along and watch / passenger before you head out as a driver.

There's another day on 24/7 (yes, it was a calendar date before it became a saying :P ) that you can drive at!

Im a new meber to SAU and will probably come out to watch. i have never been before though so have some simple questions. Even though im not driving im still allowed into the garage area and so on?

What time does it finish? as i may not be able to make it until maybe 9 or 9:30.

and

is it easy to find the area where all you guys will be?

Your welcomed to come into the pits. Just observe the general rules

No smoking

Keep an eye out for cars entering/exiting pitlane

face the race track

It finishes at 5pm

Hey Pete if your after a set of 235/45/17s then i have 2 your welcome to. They are worn (Well past the indicators, but still visible tread) and even tyre wear so no canvas etc. With me driving easily 1-2 days at the track left in them.

... with you driving, i dont know, but welcome to try.

Ok,

Only 5 days to go.

How to get to the pits

Dirve along M4 and exit at either Reservoir rd or Wallgrove rd and head to the GWH.

From the GWH follow the signs to Eastern Creek Raceway (watch for radiar in this area... the cops love to set one up when there is a track day on).

Turn right at the round about when Eastern Creeck (Gate 1) is straight in front of you.

Follow this road ALLLLL the way around to the back of the circuit to Gate 7 Competitors entry (Observe speeds as I have seen cops on this entry road also and yes it is classified as a public road).

From there just keep driving untill you find the bunch of Skylines (or park near garages 31,32,33,34).

Drivers will get a pit garage to put all there gear in.

Spectator and passengers cars can be parked at the back of the pit garages (make sure you park in the yellow marked bays only).

My number is 0414 940 938 if you are having difficulties.

Pete,

I have some tyres that you originally had if ya want them. 235/45/17's I think.

Julian & Urmine,

Bring you gear and money guys, I think Kinks said that he wasn't gonna do this on (just bring his camera) and I think I might just go out for passenger laps and try to maybe grab a session on the end if a few guys have gone early. I should be able to get Julian on track and I would imagine I should be able to get Urmine out there too.

Look forward to seeing you all there,

Dan.

No rain just cloudy (my dad is in the weather business and i already asked him about this) we live about 15-20mins west of EC.

If it rains tho (and my dad is wrong) im happy for you all to submit his email address to spam lists :P

    • Yeah. "New pump" does not have to mean "massive pump".
    • Well, can you still get an OEM pump, and by the time you're buying a Nismo/N1 etc, just buy another aftermarket pump. It's better to have the pump able to flow more if its needed, than for your pressure to drop off. At any point in time, you're replacing the oil pump in a rebuild. Aftermarket pumps are likely going to be a better economical choice, and they don't have any negatives, even if they can flow more.   Also, when you're saying "replace the pump gears" are you meaning leave a 25+ year old housing in the engine with unknown wear, and just put new gears in? As that sounds silly to me, especially if you do have that minute amount of wear, that means your new pump gears now have a little bit more clearance beside them, which means, whelp, you may not get to build a lot of oil pressure or make a lot of flow.
    • Right, but if you replace the pump gears + put a spline or sine drive gear on the crank on a Nismo/OEM/N1/etc pump at that point do you really still want more flow/oil pressure? Let's say this is a the aforementioned "keep it simple" build, no more than ~400 kW at the crank.
    • Strength. And on the early RB26, full engagement of the pump drive.
    • I really don't understand the point of aftermarket oil pumps if your particular engine doesn't need more oil pressure. As far as I can make sense of it the problem seems to be cavitation from sucking air, maybe the pump gear design with how it interfaces with the OEM crank, and maybe the backing plate screws wanting to loosen themselves. How does flowing more oil fix these issues?
