hey all

a few months after i had my tune done i started getting boost cut on high boost ( 19psi). it seems to spike quickly and cut out.

ive tried messing around with the profec by reducing gain raising the warning etc etc but its still causing a problem, the limit says max boost its hit is 1.53 bar. On low boost (around 12psi) it runs 100%

another note, tial runs a 0.9 spring.

any ideas.

the solenoid has to work pretty hard

to maintain the level between 0.9 and 1.53 bar

try and upgrade the spring, would give better control

i dont want to go to that trouble if i dont have to and the ebc shouldnt be hitting 1.5+, 19psi is only about 1.3 i think

he is running tial 38mm external gate on a TD06.

from our msn conversation, as soon as it relies on the EBC, it will over boost

Are you specifically stating that the profec B 2 is a spiking machine, or making a general across the board statement re boost controllers being unable to bring boost on without spiking when the boost is set higher than the spring rate?

neither

just trying to figure out why it's over boosting to about 1.5bar and hitting a boost cut when initially it was tuned at 1.3bar and was working fine for a few months.

the only thing I can suggest is to get it on a dyno and have another crack at tuning it. they can be hard to set up on the street just due to roads available, and speed limits etc. i had a little trouble getting mine perfect. 10 mins on the dyno and it was sorted.

its booked in for monday..

if its a problem with the tune i know the tuner will sort it out no charge but if its a ebc problem ill be up for the bill..

i tried upping the warning see if it was causing a problem but it did nothing.. seems like a typical spiking problem.
