guys mate took the car for a drive, and said it still pulls very well and there have never been any signs of low oil pressure, high temperatures, or even lose of oil (oil was changed 3000kms ago and is still at d same level since changed). he agrees that the mechanic may not be entirely honest, seeing how he offered to do the rebuild himself.

so i am gna say i am pretty firm on the price, also forgot to mention a new standard clutch was installed a few ,months ago
