Hey all,

I have had my metal 5 inch cat installed for a while now in my r32 gtst, and lately in hot weather or a long time driving my cat over-temperature light sometimes flashes.

Should I be worried? Is it important or just because of the new type of cat? (metal vs. ceramic)

Or is it a sign that my car is running lean? It does it with Optimax, BP Ultimate and Boost 98.

Cheers,

Rhett

There's no pfc.

Just before my cat died second and third gear would occasionionally see the cat overtemp light flash. Initially I thought it was the pfc showing knock or a sensor reaching its max, it wasn't. :D

are you sure they re-installed the sensor when they put the new cat in? I've seen a few when they removed the sensor and the wiring was shorting against the car body occaisionaly which lit up the warning light. anyway the cat temp sensor is not important. it's just to tell you 1. cat is overheating and may be damaged, and 2. do not park in long grass as you may start a fire.

Well I watched the G-man put it back in when he installed the cat.

And I'm pretty sure that noone has broken into my car over the last few months and stealthily installed a power fc without me knowing about it...

So i guess apexi use it as the check light because it is the otherwise most useless light in the dash?

So i'll just ignore it. thanks.
