Hi all, got a question.

When adjusting the base idle using a laptop and conzult (free version) via the nissan consult port, do I still need to disconnect the tps sensor?

(My theory is that by using the software, it will turn off the tps signal to the ecu anyway)

(If anyone has done it this way b4, what steps did you take?)

Thanks!

Here is what I did:

Hook up the nissan consult with a laptop

Start conzult free, click on "engine", click on "full data monitoring"

Checked everything is looking good

Click on "base idle adjustment" and the engine's idle dropped to around the 5xxrpm mark

Close the "base idle adjustment" window and the idle jumps back up

So I'm assuming when I click on "base idle adjustment" I can use that to adjust my base idle via the screw and look at the laptop for more accurate adjustment. (Am I right?)

like manwhore said its only temporary and wont save the information

(You can't adjust the idle in the conzult free software, it is just a gauge/meter)

But I'm adjusting via the screw?

Sometimes when I stop the car at the lights, the idle will go just a little below the line (I'm guessing thats around 500rpm).

And the car rolls backwards on hills (automatic), my old car doesn't do that (I think my old car's idle was ~ 750rpm).

Well, the previous problem is gone and a new one arised (don't you like that :( )

Stopping at the lights, there is this deepish kind of rumble (vibration) inside and it is irritating. (Changing the gear from D to N/P doesn't help)

As soon as the car is moving it is gone.

Any ideas?

ahh welcome to the world of SKYLINES.

sorry mate can't help, but i have a meriod off issues of my own, would you like some?

LOL.

I think besides this current glitch the car is great, so thanks for the offer but no thanks :(

    • Update time!  The JZX110 had some maintenance needing to be done, so a lot of the seals with replaced to fix some oil leaks. Also used this opportunity to whack on a front mount that I'd bought some time ago.  I also finally got the rear lip painted and fitted.  I then got the exhaust done. It's just a catback for now. Custom made 3" stainless with a turn down. I could have a tip coming out, but it will require cutting the rear lip and possibly the bumper itself. So far I do like and it's made the car a little more zippy.  Close out with some nice pictures of the cars and a sneak peek of what's next.

    • Just something I found searching for more info on Emotion R, apparently the ECR33 Skyline GTS25t was either originally black, or there were two of them, the black one being the original demo car, then building a white one which was part of the 1997-onwards (to at least 2008!) Cockpit Tatebayashi Tokyo Auto Salon booth demo cars. It appears that Emotion R closed down in 2008 and was declared bankrupt in 2010: http://bank-db.com/hasan/208365.
